We are looking for a highly organised and experienced Workshop Supervisor to join our PSV garage in Bolton. This is a non-hands-on, office-based position, offering an excellent salary of £45,000 and the opportunity to take a leading role in the day-to-day running of a busy commercial workshop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all workshop operations from an office-based role
- Oversee job planning, scheduling, and technician allocation
- Monitor workshop efficiency, job turnaround times, and quality standards
- Liaise with engineers, operations teams, and management to ensure vehicle availability
- Ensure compliance with DVSA regulations, service documentation, and maintenance schedules
- Conduct performance reviews and support staff development
- Handle parts ordering, warranty claims, and supplier coordination as needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a PSV, HGV, or commercial vehicle workshop environment
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, vehicle compliance, and workshop KPIs
- Experience in a supervisory, foreman, or workshop controller role
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Good working knowledge of industry software systems (e.g., R2C, AssetWorks, etc.) is advantageous
- Relevant technical qualifications are beneficial but not essential for this office-based role

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: WTI Commercial Façade Foreman is responsible for the oversite and performance of safety, efficiency, and quality of the WTI Commercial Building Envelope business. Safety is our number one priority and will be embedded into every discussion, meeting and project. As the clear and established leader of the WTI crew, the WTI Foreman is focused on safety, crew management and efficient execution of all WTI Projects assigned to them. Travel will be required. It is the responsibility of the WTI Commercial Foreman to deliver timely and the highest quality service to all our WTI customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Actively administers and enforces Company safety policy and program to minimize accidents affecting employees, the public, and property. This includes responsibility for conducting safety meetings, complying with governmental regulations, reporting and investigating accidents, and planning site-specific job safety procedures including: Conduct the daily onsite safety brief prior to the start of the WTI project with all onsite project personnel (Sales Rep, Customer, WTI Supt & Crew, Etc) Inspect and ensure safety of surroundings, equipment and tools and identify and discuss any safety concerns. Complete the Daily Hazard Analysis form and submit to the Supervisors as applicable. Ensure all project communication is completed prior to the start of any WTI project. This includes but is not limited to communication with: Sales Rep on weekly/daily schedule WTI crew members to discuss scope of work and daily tasks The customer prior to arrival, upon arrival, and upon completion of daily work WTI Supervisor on safety, schedule changes, project and crew updates, etc. Efficient project management to include managing crew start and end times, production rates, ensuring tools and materials are available to safely and efficiently completing the assigned project. Complete the project per the scope or work, design and specification of contract & engineering documents. Complete an end of day and/or end of project walk through to ensure quality repairs and address any items prior to leaving the job site. Before and after pictures will be sent to the Sales Rep and information will be included in daily project status reports. These items will include, detailed work performed updates, materials consumed, and supplies purchases are all recording daily. Supervises, directs, and coordinates the scheduling and execution of projects in assigned areas. Manages field personnel, including, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, and retaining the quality and number of production personnel needed to meet operating demands. Has knowledge/understanding and assures assigned projects comply with all governmental rules and regulations affecting work sites and employees, i.e. OSHA, DOT, EEO/Affirmative Action, EPA, Wage and Hour, etc. Manage, monitor and document performance of WTI Commercial Field Labor and take appropriate steps or corrective measures to resolve employee and work related issues. Consult with WTI Commercial Supervisor and Human Resources as needed. Provides management with earliest possible notification of real and potential job problems. EXPERIENCE:
5+ years progressive experience in a similar role to include leading teams and technical solutions, training, troubleshooting, etc. Must be thoroughly familiar with standard façade construction including, masonry, EIFS, Stucco, Curtainwall, metal panels, concrete, plaster and other forms of facade systems and how to properly repair them using Tremco CPG Materials.

To carry out planned maintenance and responsive repairs to all vehicles and plant in use by the organisation and third party contractors. To ensure that all planned maintenance and responsive repairs are carried out to the necessary standard as laid down by the Vehicle Operators Standards Agency (VOSA) and manufacturers procedures in order to maximize vehicle/plant efficiency and availability to end user departments.
Responsibilities and Duties: 1. To undertake the planned maintenance and responsive repairs to all vehicles and plant supplied to end user department by Fleet Services. 2. To ensure that the planned maintenance and responsive repairs to vehicles and plant are carried out to VOSA ,Construction and Use ,Manufacturers and HSE standards. 3. To prepare HGV and PSV vehicles for annual test to all latest construction and use regulations and MOT testers manual standards 4. To ensure that all planned maintenance and responsive repairs are progressed through the Fleet Vehicle Workshops in a efficient and effective manner. 5. To ensure all planned maintenance and responsive repairs are accurately recorded on job cards and legal VOSA safety check sheets to include work completed, parts dates and personal signatures’. 6. Liaise with the Fleet Vehicle Workshop Stores to insure adequate vehicle spares are available, requisition non-stock items as required. 7. Liaise with user dept drivers and supervisor on vehicle fault finding and vehicle availability and legal compliance. 8. Liaise with specialist vehicle repair contractors to aid accurate and expedite diagnosis of vehicle faults. 9. To be part of a 24 hrs 365 day stand-by rota to include bank holidays 10. Emergency stand-by will include responding to major incidents when declared by the Emergency Planning Officer, this will include liaising with the Police, Fire Brigade and the Local Authority Liaison Officer (LALO). 11. To attend roadside breakdowns as required undertaking detailed situation assessment and fault diagnosis and repair with due regard to personal safety. 12. Liaise with recovery contractors to arrange safe removal of vehicles. 13. To ensure all specialist tools and equipment are used in the correct manner and are in a fit and serviceable condition reporting faults to the Workshop Supervisor. 14. In conjunction with the Workshop Supervisor assist in undertaking H&S risk assessments and reviews within the Fleet Services Workshops. 15. To keep up to date with all devolvement’s in vehicle and plant engineering attending specialist manufacturers training courses maintaining appropriate accreditation in line with legal requirements. 16. Maintain the ISO9000/2000 quality system ensuring all procedures are adhered to. 17. Flexibilty The overriding need is to provide an economical and commercially viable organization which is responsive to the needs at all times and the post holder will be expected to take a flexible approach to his duties to assist in covering all aspects of work throughout the section as required in order to promote the general well being of Fleet Services.

Comply with all safety policies (especially Cardinal Rules - e.g., Hot Work, LOTO, and line breaking).

Implement the needed preventative measures, including optimization of the PM program.
Ensure reliable operation of facility support processes and utilities (i.e., HVAC, Air Compressors, Tow motors, Hot Oil Heaters, and chiller systems).
Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace, and maintain facility electrical systems (e.g. programmable logic controllers, human machine interfaces, and lighting) and components (e.g. sensors, switches, valves, PLCs, and control wiring), and mechanical systems (e.g. product vessels/reactors, pumps) and components.
Investigate equipment/process failures and difficulties to diagnose and troubleshoot faulty operation.
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in arranging and coordinating contractors, safety permits, and tasks to support facility and process maintenance/repairs.
Serve, as needed, on process hazard analysis (PHA) teams/sessions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
One-year certificate from college or technical school.
Maintenance Mechanic Certificate or equivalent as deemed by the company.

Military mechanical experience is a plus.
