We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Housekeeper to join our friendly team at Durrant House Hotel.
This role includes working with the house keeping team to present all areas of the hotel to the highest standards. Maintaining hotel bedrooms & public area, ensuring bathrooms & facilities are presented to the required standard of cleanliness & hygiene. The pay will be reviewed after 3 months if you are performing well.
The duties of the role will include but are not restricted to:
Clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators, and lounges as well as guest rooms.
Organise work schedule from the room status list, arrivals, and departures.
Distribute linen, towels, and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand.
Restock room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos, writing supplies, mini bar.
Replace dirty linens with clean items.
Inspect and turn mattresses regularly.
Store all dirty laundry in line with company policy.
Monitor guest laundry bags.
Replace laundry bags and slips.
Check all appliances in rooms are in working order.
Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
Respond to guest queries and requests.
Respond to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses.
Deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms.
Remove room service items.
Organise and restock cart at the end of the shift.
Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms.
Follow all company safety and security procedures.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
Observe and report damage of hotel property.
To become an apprentice, you must:
Be 16 years or over.
Not already be in full-time education.

Apprenticeship Overview:

Typical Placement can include:
Learning the principles of engineering both academic and practical

Preventative maintenance tasks as per schedule
Assisting work managers with electrical problems at their sites
Reporting any unsafe plant or operations to your line manager
Training:This apprenticeship includes spending 30 weeks in Birmingham in Year 1, on a residential basis, where the travel to Birmingham, accommodation on a half board basis (including breakfast and evening meal) and travel to and from the training facility is paid for by Aggregate.
In years 2 and 3, you will attend Make UK on block release, 1 week in every 5, again staying in the hotel and paid for my Aggregate. Training Outcome:Your future is yours to dream and develop. Aggregate offers opportunities to progress into being an mechanical maintenance engineer, then potentially onto being a team leader, manager and even beyond. As a Chef apprentice, you will...
Prepare, cook and present food which meets specs and customer expectations
Maintain hygiene levels and safety regulations in the kitchen to help to guarantee the safety of your entire team and visitors
Communicate clearly with your team in order to provide high-quality meals to customers on time
Keep up to date with new products, menus and promotions
What your apprenticeship includes:
A mixture of face to face and skype/phone catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship Trainer
The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you don't already have GCSE)
A Chef Apprenticeship Qualification once you have completed the 15-month programme
Attend 4 masterclasses to further develop your Chef skills
