Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Work in compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, always ensuring personal and site safety.
Follow site inductions, risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks, reporting hazards or non-compliances promptly.
Support delivery of work in line with the construction programme, adapting to changes where required.
Prepare work areas by selecting, handling and setting out appropriate materials, tools and equipment.
Measure, mark out, cut and install timber and timber-based products accurately under supervision.
Assist with first fix site carpentry, including structural carcassing, floors, partitions, roofs and staircases.

Use, maintain and store hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
Receive, move and handle materials using correct manual handling techniques.

Provide Level 1 and 2 technical support to users relating to all IT, telecoms and AV equipment
Maintain the site service desk ensuring that users are kept informed in line with service standards
Install new IT equipment and install operating systems and software onto them as directed

Undertake specific tasks related to the safety and hygiene of the children and the cleanliness of the setting
Use their knowledge of child development to work with parents and carers to improve children outcomes and wellbeing, including those with disabilities and additional needs
Contribute to the planning and organise activities and children's individual experiences which will support and extend the children’s learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage
Communicate and engage with children to support their learning and development
Support the collection of accurate and up-to-date records which identify children’s individual needs, abilities and progress and use these as a basis for future planning
Support the wellbeing of all children including those with additional needs and disabilities
Training:
Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship training will be provided alongside an opportunity to complete any outstanding maths and English qualifications, up to Level 2
Training Outcome:
This position may lead to a permanent position on completion of the apprenticeship

Groundworkers are the first contractors to begin work on a construction site. They work closely with all construction trades, such as bricklayers, and plant operatives, to prepare the site ready for building works to begin.
You will receive a site safety briefing and a schedule of work for the day and be expected to work as part of a team to complete tasks set for that project.
You will undertake a variety of tasks such as:
Foundations, hard landscaping and earth works
Concreting
Traditional drainage and pipe laying
Benching, channelling manholes and gullies
Road works, laying kerbs, paving
Surfacing and tarmac laying
Utility ducting and laying
Use of plant/machinery
Steel fixing and piling
In order to work on site you will be required to sit a Health and Safety Operative test to gain your CSCS card. This will be organised by McDermotts.Training:You will be trained on site by our staff and also attend up to 12 block weeks of training at Salutem in Aston, B6 5RS to gain a Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship standard.Training Outcome:After successful completion of the apprenticeship, we would hope to employ you within our business permanently on our Derby site as a groundworker with the potential to progress to team leader, site supervisor and beyond.
