Apprentice Building Surveyor - Training and Development
We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset - and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
Assisting the Building Surveyor team in a range of building surveying duties for the council, to help to ensure that the council’s estate is managed and developed effectively Assisting with site inspections to review defects and compliance issues Assisting with scoping and specifying repair, remedial and capital improvement works for delivery by internal or external trades Preparing plans and drawings for proposed works using AutoCAD where requiredThe role will require frequent travel across Somerset, with lone working subject to risk assessments.
Training:
You will be required to enrol on Apprenticeship training course - Chartered Surveyor (degree) (level 6). Apprentices will be required to complete a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited BSc (Honours) degree. The postholder will also be required to enrol on the RICS APC and works towards full membership of the RICS.

We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. We are looking for an Apprentice Data Analyst to join our busy Business Intelligence Team. You’ll gain hands on experience of using information and data to support the delivery of Council services and improve the outcomes for local people. The Business Intelligence Team supports the delivery of Council Services through the provision of data analysis, intelligence and insight. Apprentices will gain knowledge and experience of data analysis tools and techniques using a range of databases and reporting systems.
Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, flexible hybrid working, with days in Council offices across Somerset when required 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) Working hours to be agreed with line manager
