Your key responsibilities:
Assist in tool manufacture and assembly using basic machining and bench fitting techniques
Support tool maintenance and repair, using machinery such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to cut and shape the press tools
Perform measurement and inspection using hand tools and metrology equipment (e.g. callipers, micrometres, gauges)
Learn and apply engineering drawings, tolerances, and basic GD&T concepts
Help with tool trials, troubleshooting, and documenting issues and fixes
Maintain toolroom organisation (5S), tool control, and correct storage of equipment
Monitoring the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or possible improvements
Attending machine breakdowns to identify the root cause and rectification

Year 1 Full-time off-site training at Burnley College
Years 2,3 & 4 Full time on-site training, with 1 day release at the training provider
