As a Mechatronic Maintenance Apprentice at AWE, your role will include:
Servicing, repairing and installing various Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic and Programmable logic control (PLC) systems, all of which are commonly used onsite to support the Machine Tools department and Trials & Test Technology Centre.
As a Mechatronic Maintenance Technician within either of these groups, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining equipment within all our production-related facilities, with the goal of maintaining production and ensuring minimal downtime.
These activities may include scheduled and breakdown maintenance on all aspects of engineering within your chosen team, including condition-based monitoring and calibration of the equipment.

We are looking for an apprentice to work as part of a team and closely with the account managers to gain a full understanding of the role and the wider business. Many current staff came through the Apprentice route successfully.
Advertising roles through various job boards
Update databases and assist with a variety of administration
Conduct over the phone and in person interviews
Build relationships and attend networking events
Maintain and promote the reputation of the company
Agree and support development plans following appraisal
Maintain/promote company vision and values
Assist in the development of the business strategy to deliver and maintain growth
In liaison with the HR Manager ensure employee issues are dealt with according to company policy
All staff work to the quality procedures and to the recognised industry standards
Support the business as required by the regional and account managers
Support the company with any projects as required
After 6 months, if the apprentice is proving to perform well, there will be an option for them to progress within the business. The role of a Dental Nurse is to assist the dentist with all clinical aspects of the surgery.
This includes but is not limited to:
Greeting and caring for all patients in a polite and courteous manner at all times
Work closely with the dentist in a professional and appropriate manner
Provide chair-side assistance during all dental procedures
Update computer records and taking notes
Cleaning surgeries to a high level, maintaining strict cross-infection controls
Preparing instruments and materials during treatments
You will be earning whilst learning during your apprenticeship. The dental practice will give you all of the practical knowledge you will need in order to qualify as a dental nurse and the training provider (Harriet Ellis) will teach you all of the theory side.Training:The Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship offers employment within a dental practice with an accompanying assessment and skills development programme. It will develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours of the learner to operate competently in all aspects of clinical responsibilities.
It will also provide you with the relevant qualification to apply for professional registration as a dental nurse to the General Dental Council (GDC).
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment.

Oral hygiene
Orthodontics
Restoration
Legislation
First aid
Health and safety
You will complete on and off-the-job training whilst you are fully supported throughout, progressing to gateway and endpoint assessment. Training schedule has yet to be agreed. Details will be made available at a later date.
Functional Skills in maths and English at Level 2 is available to be studied alongside the apprenticeship if you do not have GCSEs or Functional skills or equivalent at Level 2 already
