The Technician, IT Support is responsible for maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, RF handhelds, and mobile devices, as well as providing end user support. Primary functions also include the tracking of leased assets, and the proactive analysis of currently deployed technology and provide recommendations for future optimizations. Qualifications:

1 to 3 years of technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MAC OS operating systems

Familiar with Microsoft's Active Directory and Group Policies

The IT Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure across the Learning Trust. What You’ll Be Doing:
Resolving IT issues and service requests via the central helpdesk

Attend and understand daily onsite safety brief prior to the start of the WTI project. Inspect and ensure safety of surroundings, equipment and tools and identify and discuss any safety concerns. Execution of project tasks with knowledge of expected production rates, ensuring tools and materials are used safely and efficiently to complete the assigned project. Complete the project per the scope or work, design and specification of contract & engineering documents as directed by foreman. Responsible to aid foreman in tracking and monitoring project inventory. Maintains highest quality on-site customer relations in projecting positive image. Has knowledge/understanding and performs work in compliance with all governmental rules and regulations affecting work sites and employees, i.e. OSHA, DOT, EEO/Affirmative Action, EPA, etc. Provides management with earliest possible notification of real and potential job problems. Accepts responsibility for the care, custody, and use of company equipment, material, tools, and other assets as assigned by the WTI Commercial Foreman. Understands and executes proper material and equipment usage, maintenance, and storage. Based at our Derby depot, you'll have an important role in making sure our trains are safe, well-maintained, and reliable
We offer a 4-year programme designed to give practical on the job training in our Fleet Engineering depots, combined with classroom-based learning that will give you all the underpinning knowledge you need to be successful in your apprenticeship
You'll get practical experience of Engineering, Fitting and Vehicle Building and lots of other maintenance activities that keep our trains on the right track
Training:Year One:
Year one will require one day a week classroom on our Derby site completing the core units of the knowledge component required for this apprenticeship. Provide and manage a framework for the Warranty Returns and Customer Complaints through the company’s 8D system
Provide hands-on technical assistance for component field failures, ensuring parts are diagnostic / analysed and project managed through preventative design, supply or build action
Conduct Supplier Evaluation Audits and development programs
Responsible for establishing trends, corrective and preventative actions to support both Niftylift internal and external supply chain
Development of robust machine testing procedures and inspection, including hands-on hot testing
Production Engineering
Support the manufacture of the company’s existing and new product range through generating effective engineering information/systems/manufacturing processes and facilities in accordance with Health and Safety legislation
Help to implement a successful Lean Manufacturing culture, focusing on continual improvement and the elimination/reduction of all wastes by educating the business and removing non-value-added waste from the business processes
Supporting the development of and integration of automated processes, through programming, system management and optimised workflow methods connected to Lean Manufacturing and Niftylift Workshop Standards

This may include the training and mentoring of colleagues.Training:You will study on a Level 3 Engineering and manufacturing support technician apprenticeship. Field Service TechnicianSalary: £28,730 paMidlands contracts based at Birmingham depot.Hours 8.00am-5.00pm Monday-FridayJob purpose:Working from our Birmingham and Leamington Spa depots to enable the Company to achieve the agreed contractual standard of service required by completing initial training in the workshop reconditioning wheelchair equipment to gain essential product knowledge. On completion of initial training this will enable you to work out in the field delivering and collecting equipment whilst undertaking further training for repairing and servicing wheelchairs. The expectation is that once fully trained most jobs will be completed on a first-time fix basis.Key Responsibilities:
Servicing and repairing Powered & Manual wheelchairs in the field with the aim of achieving a first time fix whenever possible.Delivering and collecting wheelchairs to and from service user’s homes and NHS departments, always ensuring that the Company Infection Control Policy is followed.Ensure all paperwork relating to each job is read carefully and completed with all the necessary information regarding parts used and action taken written onto the job card to enable the administration team to accurately update the data base.Ensure any PPE supplied for use in carrying out your duties is used as instructed.Once fully trained undertake out of hours responsibility when rostered.Observe all regulations covering the driving and use of the Company vehicle on the public highway and be aware of employee responsibility under the Health & Safety at Work Act.Keep the vehicle you use in a tidy state and ensure stocks of all necessary parts are replenished each day.Ensure the vehicle safety check and the van check sheet are done each week.Maintain a professional customer service attitude and always use discretion when dealing with all service users and other agencies, always wear your uniform and identification badge, and ensure the uniform is always kept clean and laundered.Prioritise and organise your workload, referring to Line Manager as and when appropriate.Be responsible for the maintenance and safe keeping of all tools and equipment provided by the Company as outlined in the Company handbook.Agree to undertake all training offered that is necessary to maintain the skills required for this role.
