The Commodities Front Office Technology team provide technology solutions, platforms and support to the Global Markets Commodities team. This includes front-end software development (building apps), server-side application and platform engineering. We work closely with traders, sales, quant & COO functions to define and deliver high-quality solutions that help our traders to best serve our clients in a rapidly evolving marketplace. We will be able to offer exposure to different technologies depending on the skills and interests of the apprentice.
You’ll spend most of your time working alongside experienced colleagues, learning relevant and valuable skills, contributing to exciting projects whilst being exposed to cutting-edge technology and see first-hand how first-class organisations operate systems. For the remainder of your time, you’ll follow an established apprenticeship programme, graduating after three years with a Degree in Digital and Technology Solutions.

The apprenticeship will support you in developing in key elements of the role below:

Produce mock-ups or prototypes
Deliver your solution within the agreed timeline

This will be a field engineer role working within the Doncaster / Scunthorpe areas.
Work will be carried out on customer’s premises and at Briggs Equipment Group workshop locations within your specified region.
Programme Overview:
Year 1 - You will complete on-the-job training by shadowing your mentor and other Engineers. You will learn to support an engineer and perform basic tasks under supervision.
Year 2 - You will continue to work under the supervision of your mentor, and will begin to perform tasks alongside qualified engineers, where your work will be checked and signed off by qualified engineers.
Year 3 - You will be able to independently perform servicing and minor repairs on equipment that is familiar to you, where your completed work will be checked and signed off by a qualified engineer. 3rd Year Apprentices who have a valid full driving licence** and successfully complete Briggs’ driver training, may be eligible to be issued with a Company van (for field-based roles).
Year 4 – Subject to successfully achieving your apprenticeship qualification, you will progress to the ‘Improver’ year. You will be qualified to independently perform servicing, minor and major repairs, and sign off your own work. You will be able to receive assistance from more experienced engineers on unfamiliar equipment. During this 4th year you will develop your independent on-the-job practical experience, and undertake further internal training, to make the transition to become a fully-qualified Engineer upon successful completion of the programme.
Training:
Lift truck and powered access engineering technician (level 3), including Functional Skills in English and maths if required
The qualification aligns with the following professional recognition: Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) for Engineering Technicians, Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) for Engineering Technicians, Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) for Level 3 recognition
Apprentices will also benefit from completing a range of internal and external product and engineering skills training, delivered by Briggs Equipment Group’s internal Technical Training team
Apprentices will also have the opportunity to complete an Outward-Bound experience, IT & presentation skills training as part of the 4-year programme
Training Outcome:Upon successful completion of the 4-year programme and subject to satisfactory performance, you will be considered for a permanent contract as a fully qualified Engineer, with starting salary expectations c.£30k+ dependent on location.

As a Business Administration Apprentice, your typical day involves supporting various administrative tasks within the company. Your role will be to support the Information and Guidance team and Sales team with daily administrative tasks, including receiving and chasing enrolment paperwork, compliance checks and liaising with the MIS team

Administration
Reviewing actions received by the MIS team and chasing missing information, signatures, and documents within 24 hours of receipt of packs passed back to Training Advisors
Entering data into our PICS system to support with the preparation of enrollment paperwork
Reviewing non-compliance reports. Support the Training Advisors to correct non-compliance issues in a timely manner and updating these reports
Working on projects alongside the IAG Manager and Sales Manager
Calling settings to chase enrolment documents prior to TA meeting
Confirming enrolment meetings via telephone, liaising with settings and learners
Compliance checking of data entered into the Digital Apprenticeship Service portal
Sending of funding to employers and supporting them to use the Digital Apprenticeship website
Assisting other members of the wider Admin team as and when necessary
Complying with the data protection rules at all times
Taking meeting minutes and keeping an accurate log of these
Updating Smartsheets and trackers to support the Sales team and IAG Manager
Keeping up to date with ESFA rules and regulations and Ofsted requirements
Invigilating of initial assessments when needed
