Our client are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to join their team as a Junior Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of product design and development, process design, and testing. This role will involve working closely with stakeholders to introduce new products, updating records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The Junior Design Engineer will also be involved in training and communicating with production teams and suppliers.
Responsibilities as Junior Design Engineer
- Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
- Participate in product design and development activities
- Design and develop processes, and conduct testing and stress testing
- Utilise Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify potential product issues
- Train production teams on new products and processes
- Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures
- Communicate effectively with suppliers
- Review process sheets and maintain updated records
- Ensure compliance with 5S and health and safety standards
- Provide constructive input and encourage idea sharing among colleagues
- Support and inspire colleagues to perform at their best
- Demonstrate respect and attention to detail in all interactions
- Prioritise workload effectively and maintain punctuality and good timekeeping
