This a casual role which means you can control the days you work
Employment will be carried out on different retail customer sites and stores and travel will vary on a shift-by-shift basis. Certain locations will have minibus transport provided free of charge.
You will be responsible for ensuring stock is counted quickly and accurately using a handheld scanner.
Being able to stand for prolonged periods of time is needed for the role and access equipment such as ladders or steps may have to be used on occasion to reach high stock.
Key Skills/ Experience Required
Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to work unsociable hours including early mornings and throughout the night when required. As a result, we can only accept applicants 18 years and over.
You must have a 'can do' attitude and be able to work long shifts when required on large counts.

Duties may include:
Learning about Insurance and how it helps people and businesses
Helping clients understand their insurance needs
Talking to Insurers, presenting risks, explaining problems and creating solutions

Upon completion of the Level 3 qualification, you will be an experienced and qualified optical assistant, and as such, you can continue building up skills that will always be in demand. Career breaks and part-time working are often possible.
You could go on to acquire higher level optical qualifications such as:
Ophthalmic Dispensing – Become a qualified Dispensing Optician
Contact lens Optician - fit Contact lenses
Low vision specialist helps people where traditional spectacles will not suffice. Supply low vision aids, magnifiers, advice on improving contrast and on other non-optical aids such as bump-ons
Optometry courses – carry out full eye examinations and issue prescriptions
Clinical representative – visiting practices introducing new frame ranges and ophthalmic lenses
In-practice trainer – You could use your knowledge to train others
Other non-clinical roles:
Practice Management – you could complete a management course
Practice ownership – you could go into business yourself, partnership or franchise
