Under the guidance of more experienced colleagues, learn to undertake pupil record-keeping as requested

Support the effective use of ICT in learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use
Maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans. To clear away resources and materials after lessons
Assist with the display of pupils’ work in the classroom and around the school
Prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/learning activity and assist pupils in their use
Undertake routine administrative tasks e.g. photocopying, filing, reproducing worksheets for agreed activities
SUPPORT FOR THE SCHOOL
Be aware of and comply with policies relating to child protection, health & safety, confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection, reporting all concerns to a nominated person
Contribute to the overall work, smooth running and ethos of the school
Appreciate and support the role of other people in the team
Attend and participate in meetings as required
Participate in the school’s Performance Management process
Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out-of-school activities as required and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of a teacher
Training:
On the job training will be provided by the employer in the workplace
You will be required to attend Bishop Auckland College one day per week during term time

Support for Pupils:
To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff/Senco to undertake work/care support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the classroom
To provide high quality care and education to children within the school. Apprentices will ensure a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment as indicated by the teacher/supervisor to ensure that children's needs are met
To work to agreed aims and objectives
Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Encourage pupils to interact with others, and engage in activities led by the Teacher, setting challenging expectations and promoting self-esteem and independence

Training Outcome:Any successful apprenticeship who demonstrates the ability and necessary skills to carry out the role of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to a high standard, would be considered for any permanent vacancy that may arise in the school.
