The Field Installation Engineer Role Will Include:
Full OEM training on specialist vehicle wash systems

Nationwide field-based role covering sites across the UK
Staying away Monday - Thursday, with all expenses covered
Working Monday - Friday with no weekend requirement
The Successful Field Installation Engineer Will Have:
Confident working with electrics, wiring and hand tools
An electrical-mechanical engineering background is desirable
Experience with installation, maintenance, machinery or equipment would be advantageous
Happy to travel throughout the UK and stay away Monday - Thursday
Full UK driving licence

This is a hands-on role combining prescription lens glazing with the opportunity to learn detailed spectacle frame repairs. The business works with customers and optical practices across the UK, repairing glasses that often cannot be fixed in a standard optical practice.
The role
Glaze and reglaze prescription lenses using Essilor equipment
Check lens powers, prescriptions and finished spectacles for accuracy
Assess damaged frames and learn specialist glasses repair techniques
Help process online orders and respond to customer enquiries, mainly by email
Support the small team with occasional customer appointments and other workshop tasks
About you
You’ll ideally have optical lab or glazing experience and a good understanding of prescription lenses and frames. Experience with Essilor, Nidek or Huvitz equipment would be useful, but the team can help you adapt to its systems.
Previous frame repair or rimless glazing experience would be an advantage, although neither is essential. You’ll learn repair techniques from a highly experienced spectacle technician, including how to achieve repairs that are both secure and neat.
The team would also consider someone who has moved from a glazing role into optical retail, provided they have retained strong technical and lens knowledge. You’ll need to enjoy practical work, take care with customers’ eyewear and be willing to help across the business when needed.

To be successful in this Quality Technician role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience in a quality-focused role within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment.
A good understanding of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes.
Experience managing non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
Experience conducting internal quality audits.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.

As an Application Technician, you will:
Support engineers with the development, assembly, testing, and validation of new fibre optic products and processes.
Produce and maintain Engineering Termination Procedures (ETPs), technical documentation, and instructional videos.
Build proof-of-concept prototypes and assist with new product introductions.
Perform fibre optic connector and cable assembly, including fibre stripping, ribbonising, cleaving, crimping, fusion splicing, polishing, testing, and connector inspection.
Analyse test data and validate fibre system performance using established procedures.
Assist with Design of Experiments (DOE), process verification, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work with contract manufacturers by providing technical training, remote support via video and telephone, and assisting with product qualifications and trials.
Travel to customer and manufacturing partner sites across Europe approximately once a month to deliver technical support, conduct training, support product qualifications, and help resolve technical issues.
Support customer investigations, technical queries, and issue resolution.
Maintain a well-organised engineering training laboratory, ensuring equipment, materials, and documentation are accurately labelled and stored.
Interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, product specifications, and manufacturing instructions.

Understanding of manufacturing documentation, engineering drawings, and product specifications.
Experience supporting manufacturing processes, process improvement, or troubleshooting activities.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Willingness and ability to travel within Europe approximately once per month.
