Housing & Support Worker (Move-On)
Oxford
Part-time – 22.5 hours per week
£19,539 per annum (£32,565 FTE)
Fixed Term – 12 Months
Help people make homelessness history.
Most homelessness services help people through a crisis.
This role helps people build a future.
We are recruiting for an experienced Housing & Support Worker to join an ambitious homelessness charity at an exciting time as it launches a brand-new Move-On Housing service.
You will support people who have already overcome significant barriers and are ready for the next stage of their journey, moving into employment, independent living and a place they can truly call home.
This is an opportunity to do more than provide support. You will help people sustain tenancies, develop life skills, grow in confidence and create lasting independence, while helping shape an innovative service from the very beginning.
The Role
You will manage two newly redeveloped Move-On houses providing accommodation for up to eight residents, supporting them as they prepare for independent living. Alongside this, you will provide floating support to former residents who have already moved into their own homes, helping them maintain their tenancy and reduce the risk of returning to homelessness.
This is a varied role combining housing management, tenancy sustainment and person-centred support. From carrying out support sessions and risk assessments to managing rents, maintaining property standards and helping residents access long-term accommodation, no two days will be the same. You will also play a key role in developing the policies, procedures and best practice that will shape this new service for years to come.
About You
You will already have experience working within supported housing, homelessness services or floating support and understand what it takes to help people with complex needs achieve lasting independence.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience of:
Supported housing, homelessness or Move-On services.
Floating support or tenancy sustainment.
Housing management, including rent collection, arrears or property management.
Supporting people with complex needs, including those who have experienced homelessness.
Helping people access welfare benefits, housing options and independent living.
Building positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and encouraging personal responsibility.
A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across Oxfordshire would be an advantage, as you will be supporting people in both the Move-On properties and within the wider community.
Why Join Us?
This is more than a job.
You will join a charity that believes everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life through meaningful work, stable housing and the right support. Every day you will see the difference your work makes as people gain confidence, sustain employment, secure their own home and take the final steps towards lasting independence.
If you are passionate about homelessness, housing and helping people achieve long-term change, we would love to hear from you.
Apply today and help people take the final step from homelessness to home.
