Day to day tasks include:
Assist experienced machinists in operating a variety of machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, CNC machines)
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and schematics including customer drawings
Measure and inspect parts using precision tools such as micrometres and gauges
Learn to set up machines, load materials and adjust parameters for precision cutting and shaping
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools
Monitor machine operations, adjusting as necessary to ensure optimal performance
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot and solve machining issues
Follow all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe work environment
Complete all training with In-Comm

The role will include the following:
Correct use of safety equipment including PPE (personal protective equipment), RPE (respiratory protective equipment) and LEV (local exhaust ventilation)
Produce a range of welded assemblies to include butt welds and fillet welds using both MIG (metal inert gas) and TIG (tungsten inert gas) on thin sheet and plate metal
Grinding using bench and hand-held grinders
Metal finishing using shot blasters
