Overview
Our client seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Engineer to join our Leicester site, supporting the Engineering Manager and leading the engineering team to deliver exceptional operational performance.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to step into a leadership position, acting as a key driver of engineering excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
Lead, support and mentor the engineering team with hands‑on technical guidance.
Deputise for the Engineering Manager, including responsibility for daily activities, decision‑making and budget oversight in their absence.
Ensure compliance with PPM schedules, corrective maintenance tasks, SSOWs and engineering processes.
Support training activities for engineers and operators on new equipment and procedures.
Compliance, Safety & Standards
Uphold company Vision, Values and QHSE policies across all engineering operations.
Ensure site compliance with risk assessments, COSHH, RIDDOR and other regulatory standards.
Promote a strong and proactive safety culture within the engineering team.
Support the maintenance of site accreditations such as ISO/EN 14065.

Work collaboratively with Production to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and enhance OEE.
Lead initiatives focused on sustainability, energy efficiency and WECO reduction.
Support installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of site equipment and facilities.
Source spare parts, equipment and machinery through approved suppliers.

Experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions:
Responsible for all Construction Division activities in a respective region - including oversight and direction of Project Management, Installer Recruiting and Quality Assurance Managers.
Presents and promotes Stonhard's products and Construction Division services to General Contractors, Industrial and Commercial accounts, supporting the Stonhard Territory and Sales Managers.

Required travel can be up to 50%/time in the field.

Responsible for providing heavy duty cleaning services within the manufacturing plant and warehouse.
Essential Functions
Run floor scrubber and floor buffer as needed. Empty plant floor trash containers and advise maintenance manager when the trash dumpster is full. Empty all cardboard containers on the plant floor and take cardboard to the recycling dumpster outside the facility. Sweep the plant floor daily removing dust from the plant floor. Assists in cleaning up chemical spills as required. Follows safety guidelines in doing this task. Monitor supplies of floor cleaner, trash bags, and floor buffer scrubber pads, and makes maintenance manager aware of when these supplies need to be restocked. Reports all spills, leaks, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards to the production supervisor and/or the maintenance manager.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent; in lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education may be considered. 5 years' Janitor experience in an Industrial Environment.
Preferred Requirements

Managing stock in and out (to external clients)
Picking and packing
Store transfers & stock control
Completing the paperwork within the office
Raising quotations
Trade counter
Sales calls
Processing orders
Administration
Answering the telephone
Some heavy lifting will be involved with loading and unloading the vans
Training:Completing a Trade Supply Apprenticeship Level 2, consisting of:
Knowledge and Competence qualification in Trade Supplier at Level 2
End point assessment - Final test and observation
The vocational and academic training aspects are separated and delivered by separate teams. The vocational training and assessment is conducted, more often than not, on-site according to the employer's wishes.
Notice of dates is agreed well in advance of a site visit. Training and assessment are conducted both on and off-the-job, according to the needs of the course and the learner.
