Key Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces for painting including sanding, masking, and cleaning
Mix and apply paints, primers, and coatings using appropriate tools and techniques
Operate spray booths and other paintshop equipment safely and efficiently
Inspect painted items for quality and finish, making adjustments as necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
Follow work instructions, job cards, and technical specifications
Record work completed and report any issues or defects to supervisors
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the paintshop
Training:
The learner will be studying the Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification
Day release to West Suffolk College

Working as part of our small team, you will be trained in carrying out tasks including:
Assessing the days schedule and discussing the day’s work ahead
Reviewing the health and safety of the work area and required PPE
Determining the tools and equipment required for the tasks
Use of relevant tools, equipment and machinery including grass mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, rake, hand tools
Planting and associated activities i.e. fertilizer, weed killer, insecticide, etc.
Clearing away of debris and cuttings, grass
Collection and check of tools and equipment prior to leaving site
Ensuring very good customer service when interacting with clients
Training:
One day per week will be allocated to training at Kirkley Hall
Training Outcome:
