Key Tasks / Responsibilities:
Assist with planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair tasks across buildings, facilities, and grounds.
Support Instructor Technicians with session preparation, general building fabric repairs, including painting, decorating, joinery, plaster patching, and minor masonry work.
Help carry out basic plumbing tasks, such as unblocking sinks, replacing tap washers, and checking for leaks under supervision.
Assist with basic electrical tasks, including replacing light bulbs, checking fixtures, and supporting qualified staff with minor electrical maintenance.
Conduct routine safety checks, inspections, machinery, plant, MWF, and meter readings, reporting any issues promptly to supervisors.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure they are clean, safe, and well-organised.
Respond to maintenance requests in a polite and professional manner, helping to maintain a positive environment for building users.
Support the installation, upkeep, and repair of fixtures, fittings, and building components.
Shadow experienced colleagues to learn safe and effective property maintenance techniques.
Accurately complete apprenticeship logs, assessments, EPA preparation and portfolio evidence as required by Lancaster & Morecambe College.
Follow all organisational health, safety, safeguarding, and environmental procedures at all times.
Assist with emergency repairs or site issues when required, under the direction of senior staff.
Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for staff, residents, learners, and visitors.

The Role of Chemical Plant Controller
As the Chemical Plant Controller, you are responsible for the day-to-day safety, operating and environmental performance of EPS and associated logistics operations (planning, receipting and offloading) and sampling (in plant streams). Working under the supervision and direction of the Operating Plant Manager, they will ensure the area is optimised and maintenance activities are carried out to meet site requirements.
The role is a predominantly days-based role, working Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm, however this role is used for long-term relief and would fluctuate between days and a shift-based role working 4 on, 8 off 12-hour shifts (mixture of days and nights).
Key Responsibilities
Control and operation of Storage and Offloading to meet business requirements and demand on site.
Continuously improve assets performance and ensure that the plant is operated and maintained to the optimum so that it is a reliable and cost effective for the site and manufacturing unit.
Issuing Permits to Work.
Oversee permitry, general Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work for the Plants and associated areas (switch rooms, buildings etc.)
Taking of in process samples.
Preparation for maintenance activities including isolation and decontamination of the plant.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Chiller Engineer with NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, F-Gas Category, City & Guilds 2079, or equivalent and a have strong understanding in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial chiller systems. As the Chiller Engineer you will be required to attend a number of commercial sites, Universities, Hospitals and offices covering London & SE, where you will carry out PPM on diverse chiller systems, including air-cooled, water-cooled, absorption, and adiabatic chillers, to ensure optimal performance and longevity. You will be self-motivated, technically proficient, customer-focused, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities. Strong vendor sourcing capability, including researching, evaluating and liaising with suppliers, supported by solid knowledge of supply chain procedures.

Propose and report inventory adjustments to the Supply Chain Manager.
Adhere to all policies regarding stock and no-charge orders, special charges, quality, credit, freight recovery and commission structures.
Facilitate all paperwork for any requested returns (RGA's) or credit memos.
Proficient in product usage, measurement systems, packaging, production processes, and computer reporting.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
