Training:Not only will apprentices be working and be trained at a DAF garage, but they will also attend our DAF Nottingham Training Centre four times a year for two-week periods to work towards their Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification.
An advisor will visit at least every six weeks as part of a close support network to ensure that apprentices are both enjoying and succeeding in their course.
An apprentice’s training includes:

Apprentices will work with a qualified electrician primarily on electrical installation work for a period before moving towards more fault-finding and maintenance work. There are more tasks and learning opportunities for a beginner on this type of work and this is necessary as maintenance work requires a better understanding of safety procedures and technical skills that come with time.
There are times when overtime is needed to finish a job and ensure our customers can deliver the supplies required by their customers.
Although most work is local, there is occasionally work away, sometimes requiring overnight stays.
There are also job cards and reports to be written up and generally keeping the workshop and stores tidy.

Measure, cut, prepare, and assemble pipe systems in accordance with technical specifications

Training:Your first year will be spent at Seta in Washington. Please be prepared/able to travel to Washington from Monday - Friday for the first year of the apprenticeship.
Your second year will be spent 4 days in the workplace with Pipeflex and 1 day with Seta on day release.
