The marketing apprentice will assist in executing clearly defined marketing tasks, ensuring that content is accurate, timely, and aligned with business objectives, while developing core marketing skills within a busy visitor attraction environment.
Main duties of the post:
Social Media Coordination:
Schedule approved content across multiple platforms using tools such as Meta Business Suite, including Wookey Hole, Wild Wookey, Circus, Mendip View Hot Tub Lodges and Bucklegrove Holiday Park. Upload imagery and copy, ensure correct timing of posts, and support content repurposing (e.g. stories, reels). Assist with basic community management and flag any issues where required.
Website & Digital Content:
Carry out simple website updates once trained, including text and image changes, link checking, and formatting. Maintain and organise digital asset libraries and upload event listings to external platforms and partners.
Influencer & PR Support:
Support the coordination of influencer and PR activity, including maintaining records, assisting with influencer visits, and tracking content.
Marketing Campaign Support:
Assist in the delivery of marketing campaigns, including coordinating artwork and content distribution with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure materials are filed and stored correctly for future reference.
General Marketing Administration:
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the marketing team, including assisting with printed materials, email campaigns, monthly reporting, and liaison with suppliers such as printers. Support local distribution of marketing materials and attend occasional promotional events where required.

In addition to the duties listed, the post holder may be required to undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
Training:
You will be pursuing a Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Multi-Channel Marketing, through Weston College
An assessor will conduct on-site observations to evaluate your progress, as well as support you in college throughout your apprenticeship
At the conclusion of your programme, your qualification will be assessed through an Apprenticeship Assessment

A standard shift will include:
Preparing orders i.e. cupcakes ordered in store or the online shop

Serving customers in the shop and on the phone
Washing up and keeping the kitchen tidy and cleaning
Stocking up products, boards and boxes, disposing of rubbish and recycling

During your apprenticeship, a dedicated hospitality specialist will support you in your studies by visiting you in the workplace every month, alongside this you will have access to an electronic portfolio to record your apprenticeship evidence, your work will appoint a mentor to coach you, and we will invite you into college for specialist skills days approximately 6 times.
At The Cakery you will be trained by a manager following a set plan. Learning a task, then practicing the task until you are confident to do it alone, we assess each task weekly.
We will push you to get trained up as soon as possible, so you are working along the rest of the team at The Cakery. The rest of the team will mentor and support you.
The apprenticeship will last a YEAR and if successful and happy you will be offered a full or part-time job depending on yours and the business requirements. We want the apprentice to become part of the team permanently. Training Outcome:The role after the apprenticeship will be a cake maker and decorator, ideally full-time. The Person:
Previous experience operating digital print equipment, ideally Xerox production printers would be a big advantage but not necessary.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable, and professional attitude.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well in a busy retail environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign would be a bonus.
Previous experience in a retail, retail print or customer-facing print environment.
