My client is a young Swiss software company looking to continuously evolve their product. As they aim to further expand their automated testing processes and CI/CD pipelines, they are looking to hire for a motivated individual with a focus on software testing. As a Junior Software Test Engineer, you will support them in ensuring product quality and help further develop their testing processes, collaborating with software development, systems engineering, and product management teams.
The successful candidate will have an interest in software quality, test automation, and technical systems with either a degree, training or professional experience related to software engineering, as well as solid programming skills in C#.NET. You will have an understanding of testing principles, SOLID design patterns and software architecture with a desire to learn and improve your knowledge of existing test processes, automation and CI/CD pipelines.
Any experience with manual or automated testing of software applications and concepts of software validation and verification is highly desirable as is exposure to SQL Server, Git, Azure DevOps, test logs, automated test runs, wikis, or technical documentation in a testing context. Knowledge of modern CI/CD concepts, as well as test coverage, code coverage, and observability of test runs and system behaviour would be beneficial.
Fluent German and good English language is also required.

Responsibilities for the remote Field Service Engineer - Fire & Gas Detection:
Provide installation, commissioning, service, repair, diagnosis and troubleshooting support for gas detection equipment and systems, acting as a visible technical point of contact for customers.
Provide daily service, repair, installation and commissioning support on gas detection equipment and systems.
Plan and undertake routine service calls within defined territory, maximising productive time and service revenue and allowing sufficient time to respond to emergency call outs.
Oversee diagnosis and troubleshooting activity, ensuring customer issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
Ensure the maintenance of an appropriate level of spares, consumables and accessories carried in the company vehicle to support the efficient performance of servicing and repairs.
Control individual expenses within agreed budget levels and to maintain company assets in line with maintenance schedules.
Ensure any test equipment is calibrated and tested at the defined intervals.
Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of systems, acting as a liaison on technical and administrative matters.
Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Service Manager, including call plans for the following week.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test RF and analogue electronic circuits and systems.

About You
You will ideally have:
- A degree or MEng in Electronic Engineering, RF Engineering or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of post-graduate experience designing RF-based circuits and systems.
- Proven experience developing RF products or modules from concept through to design verification.
- Strong microwave, RF and analogue design and simulation skills.
- Experience with RF amplifier, filter and frequency synthesiser design.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical subjects clearly.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with radio and/or radar systems.
- Experience with open architecture standards such as OpenCPI, STICS or SOSA.
- Team leadership or line management experience.
- Digital circuit design experience.
- Experience working at mmWave frequencies.
