Learning Support Assistant Apprentice
To support, supervise and report issues relating to the learning and holistic development of individuals, or small groups of students, with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, under the direction of teaching and line management staff. To include (but is not limited to) on-course support (e.g. general in-lesson support related to their individual requirements, note taking, assistance with practical tasks etc); off-course support (e.g. supporting students to move safely, lunch duties, personal care, transport arrangements, appropriate first aid, encourage integration into college activities, etc.); residential and day trip support. Support and supervise the learning of individuals, or small groups of students. Communication and reporting of any issues. The Communications Assistant will work with the Cultural and Community Engagement team at UCL East to support the planning, delivery and development of the team’s communication activities. Primary Duties and responsibilities: The Receptionist is responsible for providing general office administrative duties, answering first line customer queries and providing an excellent customer focused service, in a result driven environment. Greet and welcome customer and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Be the Customer Service Champion for the office. Responds to emails and general enquiries promptly. Handle incoming and outgoing post and deliveries. Provide basic administrative support (e.g.: data entry, filing, photocopying). Maintain staff and visitor logs and issue passes where applicable. Basic facilities management, including refreshment, replenishment and stationary orders. Administration of Petty Cash and assist with associated payments following all processes and procedures for distributing, and managing petty cash; ensures the weekly petty cash audit is completed, and that all records are stored correctly in line with organisational policy. On a normal day, a PE & Sports Coach apprentice would support a range of school-based and activity-based tasks. This typically includes helping to plan, set up, and deliver PE lessons for primary-aged children, working alongside teachers and qualified coaches to ensure sessions are fun, inclusive, and match the curriculum. They may lead or assist with sports coaching sessions, focusing on developing children’s physical, social, and teamwork skills through structured activities and games. Throughout the school day, they often supervise and run physical activity sessions during break and lunch times, encouraging children to stay active. The apprentice would also help organise and deliver extracurricular clubs such as after-school sports, as well as support sports competitions, inter-school events, and festivals. Specific Accountabilities of the Role As you progress through the apprenticeship the duties will vary in line with knowledge and experience. Under supervision assist fee earners with caseloads. Under supervision prepare, negotiate, draft and agree legal documentation and forms and such documentation as associated with the legal process. Liaise with Counsel and external Solicitors under supervision where appropriate. Undertake legal and factual research, prepare briefing materials on particular cases and monitor new legislation. Create and maintain Legal Practice files and records both electronically and manually.
