The Role:
Producing detailed CAD drawings for control panels and BMS projects
Designing control panel layouts and electrical/control schematics
Working closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers
Developing designs based on customer requirements and project specifications
Making design amendments and revisions where required
Preparing drawings for manufacture
Ensuring designs meet project requirements and technical standards
Liaising with engineers throughout the project lifecycle
Supporting multiple projects at different stages
The Person:
Previous CAD Design, CAD Engineer or CAD Technician experience
Experience within engineering, electrical, mechanical, BMS or controls environments
Confident using CAD software
Able to understand technical drawings and engineering specifications
Electrical or Building Services knowledge advantageous but not essential

Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing laboratory testing and inspections of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure products meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This position works closely with Quality, Production, Research & Development, and other departments to identify quality issues, investigate deviations, and support continuous improvement.
The Quality Control Technician must demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgment, accurate documentation, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment involving dyes, paints, pigments, and related chemical products.
Essential Responsibilities
Quality Testing & Inspection
Perform routine physical, chemical, and instrumental testing of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products.
Perform color evaluations and comparisons using appropriate laboratory methods and instrumentation.
Conduct testing such as viscosity, pH, solids, density, grind, particle size, moisture, strength, tint, color, and other applicable product characteristics.
Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments according to established procedures.
Production & In-Process Support
Communicate test results to Production and Quality personnel in a timely manner.
Assist Production with troubleshooting quality issues and identifying potential causes of product variation.
Support batch adjustments and rework activities when directed by Quality or Production leadership.
Place material on hold when test results do not meet established specifications and escalate issues appropriately.
Support investigations of nonconforming materials and products.
Documentation & Data Management
Accurately record laboratory test results in the appropriate laboratory, quality, or ERP systems.
Support preparation of quality reports, certificates of analysis, and other quality documentation as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of customer and product information.
Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Properly handle, label, store, and dispose of chemicals and laboratory materials.
Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow applicable SDS, chemical handling, spill response, and waste disposal procedures.
Immediately report unsafe conditions, spills, incidents, or exposures to appropriate leadership.
Maintain good housekeeping practices in the laboratory and surrounding work areas.

Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, or chemical-processing environment preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to follow written procedures and standardized testing methods.
Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter and retrieve data.
Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Quality, and other departments.
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple samples or testing requests.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
Must be willing and able to work overtime as required by customer and business demands.
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a quality control laboratory located within or adjacent to a chemical manufacturing/production environment. Summary:
Support the Research & Development laboratory team in the development, modification, and evaluation of high-performance corrosion-resistant coatings, linings, and fireproofing products. This role reports directly to the Testing Supervisor or senior lab personnel and plays a key part in ensuring product quality and innovation. The Technician I will perform routine laboratory testing, conduct quality control evaluations, grade test panels, complete paint calculations, and maintain accurate laboratory documentation-all while gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced team members.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preferred: 1 year of college-level Chemistry coursework or a minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience. Must successfully pass a Jaeger Eye Test.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Regular exposure to various chemicals including, but not limited to, amines, polyamides, isocyanates, epoxies, alkyds, acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds. About the Role
This is a practical learning role combining employment with remote study towards the Level 3 Creative Industries Production Technician Apprenticeship (Live Event Technician pathway).
The apprentice will develop broad production skills across video, lighting and audio, with video and lighting forming the principal focus of their day-to-day experience at DMX Productions.
Working in the warehouse and at event sites, the apprentice will support the preparation, installation, operation and de-rig of technical systems.
They will work under appropriate supervision, taking on greater responsibility as their knowledge, competence and confidence develop.
Main duties and responsibilitiesEquipment preparation and warehouse support
Help prepare, test, clean and safely store video, lighting and audio equipment.
Select and assemble equipment using kit lists, technical specifications and plans.
Support stock control, basic fault-finding and equipment maintenance under supervision.
Assist with truck packs, loading and unloading, and keep warehouse areas clean and organised.
Event-site and show support
Assist with installing, configuring, testing and de-rigging technical systems at venues and client sites.
Support the build and operation of video systems, including LED, projection and display equipment.
Help set up and operate lighting equipment and, as skills develop, lighting control systems.
Assist with audio setup, patching, system checks and soundchecks where required.
Monitor equipment during rehearsals and events, helping to identify and resolve issues under supervision.
Work professionally with colleagues, freelance crew, venue teams and clients.
Safety and professional standards
Follow all health and safety requirements, venue rules and safe working procedures.
Use PPE correctly and undertake safety-critical work only when appropriately trained, supervised and authorised.
