The Plant Accountant Provides comprehensive financial, cost accounting, and analytical support for the Tremco CPG Mfg. Corp, Corsicana, TX chemical manufacturing plant. Partners with the Plant Controller and plant leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting, support operational decision-making, ensure compliance with policies, and drive cost efficiency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Track and review all manufacturing spending; propose reclassification entries or accruals as necessary and note anomalies for management.
Perform financial and manufacturing analysis including variance analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
Provide COGS forecasting including standard cost, PPV, and manufacturing variances.
Investigate and explain financial variances.
Prepare plant reports including explanations of variances .
Liaise with internal/external auditors for quarterly and annual audits.
Inventory & Cost Accounting
Manage inventory accuracy, reconciliations, and financial impact analysis.
Perform cost runs and validate product costing working closely with Engineering
Analyze production and purchase price variances.
Month-End Close
Prepare journal entries including accruals and reclassifications.
Reconcile accrual and prepaid accounts.
Support audits.
Ensure confidentiality and integrity of financial data and ensure compliance with GAAP, Tremco CPG Policies and SOX internal controls.
Review Trade and Intercompany Revenue and COGS to ensure accuracy and help ensure Intercompany receivables / payables are in balance.
Budgeting & Planning
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
Calculate labor and overhead rates.
Business Partnership
Provide financial insights to plant leadership.
Support operational efficiency and cost improvement projects.
Support Corporate requests for data including Government surveys and Tax requests.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

Successful completion of the AAT (Level 2) Foundation Certificate in Accounting is a mandatory element of the Accounts / Finance Assistant Apprenticeship. A broad range of accounting and finance tasks will be undertaken, providing experience across our activities. Tasks at some point would include:
Processing purchase Ledger invoices
Supplier payments
Reconciling suppler statements
Maintaining supplier records
Sales invoicing
Credit control
Maintaining customer records
Processing company credit card statements
Processing staff expenses
Matching the bank feeds
Month-end journals
Dealing with intercompany management charges

Training:You will undertake the “Accounts / Finance Assistant” Apprenticeship (an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Accounting), with full support from Accountancy Learning as part of their Flexible Apprenticeship Programme.
Assessment will be by an “End Point Assessment”, which will include the following two elements:
A Structured Interview. This will consist of 10 questions asked by an AAT Independent Assessor. It will last 60 minutes and will be performed remotely via the AAT online video portal. The questions will allow you to display the knowledge and experience you have obtained over your apprenticeship. You will build a portfolio of reflections and product evidence that will be used to support your answers to these 10 questions.
An In-tray Test. This will be undertaken under exam conditions and will last 105 minutes. It will be based on what you have studied in your AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
Successful completion of the AAT (Level 2) Foundation Certificate in Accounting is a mandatory element of the Accounts / Finance Assistant Apprenticeship. Your Apprenticeship will therefore include formal studies towards this qualification. It is anticipated that your apprenticeship duration will be for 15 months, although earlier completion is possible, provided the duration exceeds one year and a week.
You will receive support from both the employer and the training provider, to complete and achieve your Apprenticeship and will be given time to study during the week on a day release basis. Scan, save and distribute signed MMRs
Create and distribute new MMRs
Check nameplate/tag templates produced by others, prior to engraving

Produce packing/shipping and marking templates using the stencilling machine
Liaise with internal departments (e.g. Purchasing/Expediting) to resolve material shortage issues
