Reception Duties:
Providing a professional and welcoming reception service for pupils, parents, visitors and external agencies
Answering telephone calls, responding to enquiries and accurately passing messages to the appropriate staff members
Greeting visitors, ensuring they are signed in and comply with the school’s safeguarding and visitor procedures
Supporting pupils with enquiries and assisting with day-to-day needs in a caring and professional manner
Receiving deliveries and ensuring items are passed to the relevant staff members
Assisting parents with school systems, including Arbor and Free School Meal voucher processes
Handling incoming and outgoing post and correspondence
Contacting parents regarding pupil-related matters when required
Administration Duties:
Providing general administrative support including photocopying, filing, printing, laminating and preparing documents
Maintaining accurate pupil records and updating information on the school’s Management Information System (Arbor)
Supporting attendance administration and working closely with the Attendance Team

The successful candidate, who will be reporting to the department line supervisor/manager, will be dealing with import shipments and import customer services, for general accounts and larger key account customers.
The person will work as a part of the import team and arrange shipments from Scandinavia to UK based customers, by use of the existing DSV road-freight and distribution network across Scandinavia, along with internal UK distribution and warehousing departments.
The role will involve communicating with the local DSV depots across the UK and Scandinavia to ensure deliveries are done in accordance with our customers’ requirements. There will also be a degree of customer services involved with direct communication to the customer(s).

Ensure that the company operates within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment.
Perform and correctly implement General Administration, e.g. invoicing, filing, queries, claims, POD handling
Communicate efficiently and effectively with internal and external customers, suppliers, and other offices, as required by operational procedures

The Apprentice will follow the Machining Technician Apprenticeship Standard, which will combine on-job practical learning with classroom/workshop-based learning at Blackburn College. The successful candidates will be employed by Cogent Skills Services Ltd but will undertake all on-job learning with Gerotor.
As a Machining Technician, you'll develop the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to produce complex and precision work by machining components. Components are machined from metal or specialist materials using conventional or CNC machine tools.

Setting up CNC machines to run pre-programmed production components
Operation of CNC machines for manufacturing production components
Performing daily maintenance tasks on CNC machines
Component inspection & checking for conformance

Ensuring the caretaking, safety, security, grounds maintenance and where relevant, porterage-based driving duties of the site.
Opening the site at any of the Trust sites, including gates, doors, handling alarms, responding to issues and making the site safe for use in varying weather conditions.
Ensuring the site is empty before locking down and securing the site checking all doors, windows are locked and the alarm is set at any of the Trust sites.
Call out and liaise with external security company and other services if an alarm is activated
To move and organise furniture in the preparation of rooms, halls and other areas.
To assist with aspects of grounds maintenance, ranging from litter picking to supporting with cutting back or removal of branches etc that are causing immediate risk or obstruction.
To install new fixtures and fittings depending on skills and experience, this will include clocks, noticeboards, dispensers and furniture.
Carry out aspects of routine maintenance including, painting, plumbing, general maintenance. Previous trade experience is welcomed but not essential.
To clean and keep tidy all internal and external areas of all Trust sites, including driveways, seating areas, sports areas
To ensure the removal of waste in and around all sites through appropriate disposal methods.
General porterage around the sites, including between sites using work vehicles where necessary.
To support and facilitate the letting of the school or any other Trust site for sports activities, music/drama clubs and other bookings.

Support with events out of core hours at all sites, such as Open Evenings, Parents Evenings, Award Ceremonies etc.
