Ensuring EHS compliance, regulatory adherence and operational governance across manufacturing activities, maintaining safe and efficient operations.
Leading quality strategy and production quality improvement initiatives, driving performance through robust quality policies, continuous improvement programmes and manufacturing excellence.
Accountable for production plan execution, throughput performance and maximising workforce efficiency to achieve operational targets and business objectives.
Develop and deploy integrated operating systems including visual management, SQDCC performance reporting, KPI monitoring, A3 problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
Drive lean manufacturing principles through improved material flow, continuous flow processes and optimisation of ERP/MRP systems to enhance OTIF performance and inventory control.
Oversee preventative maintenance programmes, facilities management and MRO activities, ensuring equipment reliability while identifying new technologies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Provides strong leadership and coaching to operational teams, fostering collaboration across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, finance and HR functions while contributing to budget management and implementation of standard operating procedures.
For the Head of Production, we are keen to receive applications from individuals who possess:
Manufacturing / production Engineering degree or similar
Lean manufacturing certification (essential)
6-Sigma Green belt (desirable)
5+ years’ experience leading production & manufacturing transformations (Essential)
Proficient user of MRP/ERP systems (Ideally have been involved in a recent system implementation)
Project management experience
IOSH Managing safely certificate (NEBOSH Desirable)
Salary and benefits:
Up to £80,000 (depending on experience)

Our client, a financial services firm in Newcastle, is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to lead a key systems migration project on an initial 6-month fixed-term basis.
As Project Manager, you would work within a small project team and be responsible for delivering a business-critical migration programme. You will take ownership of the end-to-end project lifecycle, working collaboratively with IT, operational teams, senior stakeholders, and third-party suppliers to deliver a successful migration within agreed timescales, budget, and quality expectations.
Start date is ASAP.
Skills/Experience:
Proven experience delivering systems migration projects.
Strong project management background across planning, governance, risk, budget, and stakeholder management.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing third-party suppliers.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working within structured project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Prince2, etc.).
Financial services, pensions, wealth management, or regulated industry experience highly desirable but not essential.
