About the Role
A leading UK general aviation engine maintenance facility, located near Reading in Berkshire, is seeking an experienced Engine Mechanic / Build Engineer to join their growing team. Specialising in the overhaul, repair, and testing of Lycoming and Continental (flat 4- and 6-cylinder) piston engines, this role is also well-suited to mechanics with a background in automotive engine building.
You will work in a professionally equipped facility, carrying out repairs and overhauls on normally aspirated and turbocharged, air-cooled piston engines. This is a safety-critical role that demands precision and a keen eye for detail in both engineering and documentation. Opportunities to support dyno testing and ongoing professional development are included, and full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Overhaul, repair, and assemble 4- and 6-cylinder piston engines (boxer configuration) for both general aviation and automotive applications
- Support dyno engine testing and associated performance assessments
- Ensure all work and documentation complies with internal procedures, MOE, and EASA Part 145 aviation regulations
