The IT Operations Department consists of 6 technical teams, who are responsible for the following IT functions:
Desktop Team - Build/Delivery/Installation of PC devices, printers, and iPads/iPods. The team are responsible for the deployment and maintenance of operating systems and applications. Working with end users to carry out investigation and troubleshooting to ensure the systems work within a prescribed service level. The team are also responsible for patching devices into network ports and undertake switchport configuration. Maintenance/repairs are also dealt within the team as well as patch management.
Server Team - Build and manage the core data centre server environments. They are responsible for the deployment, support and maintenance of server hardware and operating systems, including the management of the environment to ensure high levels of availability are achieved. This includes technologies such as Windows Server OS, VMware virtualisation and Veeam Backup Suite.
Networks Team - Design, Build and manage the network infrastructure to work within prescribed service levels to ensure high levels of availability. The Team are responsible for Cabling (both Copper and Fibre), Communications cabinets, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, UPS and many leased line type connections for Community Sites.
Telephony - Design, Install and manage the telephony environment (both VOIP and Mobile), as well has hosting call centre functionality for both Primary and Acute health care.
Service Desk - Monitor call flows and follow up any breaches of the SLA following ITIL best practice. The team work closely with the other operational teams to develop scripts to ensure that the calls are handled quickly and efficiently to the correct teams. They are also the lead for the Change Advisory Board for the Trust.
Cyber Security - Ensure the Trust is maintaining a safe and secure IT network including penetration testing.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will rotate through these teams to gain a broad knowledge of the IT function within a Healthcare environment.

About the Apprenticeship
We are recruiting an enthusiastic Engineering Panel Wireman Apprentice to join our shop-floor production team. This apprenticeship combines practical, hands-on experience with structured training and further education to equip you with the core skills needed for a career in panel wiring and electrical assembly.
You will work alongside experienced panel wiremen and engineers, learning how to accurately and efficiently build and wire control panels, read engineering drawings, and understand the fundamentals of electrical assemblies. You’ll develop both technical and soft skills, including communication and teamwork.

The role is to work alongside the current Operations/Finance Team and learn all aspects of administration and reception whilst working in a busy environment. Invaluable experience will be gained within the Operations, Finance and Reception areas of the school whilst working towards an Apprenticeship. Liaison with all required stakeholders is essential for the role. Therefore, the postholder will receive training in this area, but it is expected that they will demonstrate exemplary customer service.

Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
The role will be working as part of the Maintenance Team providing ‘Hands-on’ Mechanical Technical support to both Production and other internal functions throughout the Factory.
Providing plant-wide mechanical maintenance service, departmental support and repairs on a wide range of machinery such as conveyor-based systems, presses, extruders, hydraulics, pneumatics, moulding machines and packaging machinery
Ensuring that all production targets are maintained to a high standard.

Required Experience and Qualifications of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
Engineering qualified by either Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent qualification - Mechanical
Strong Environmental Health and Safety awareness
The ability to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment undertaking PPM and TPM activities
Previous experience in undertaking maintenance within a manufacturing environment
Ability to fault find, repair and provide solutions to machinery problems

As a CNC Setter Apprentice, you will be trained to become highly skilled in manufacturing complex, precision parts and components from specialist materials using various machines:
Your core responsibilities will include:
Set up and operate 5‑axis CNC machines
Run existing CNC router programs
Assist in programming, setting, and machining new projects
Read and interpret technical drawings and work packs
Provide support to CNC trimming operators
Carry out basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
Use measuring tools including verniers, height gauges, and radii gauges
Contribute to continuous improvement activities by helping identify opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency

As a CNC Setter Apprentice, you will be studying a Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship
Throughout your Apprenticeship with Mimtec, you will be supported by your company mentor and your PETA Learning and Development Coach.
You will attend PETA’s Havant training centre for off-the-job training, one day per week for 39 months of the apprenticeship. Overall duration 45 months

An apprentice attends Day Release at Bournemouth and Poole College to complete their apprenticeship qualifications. The apprenticeship training course if a total of 4 years.
An apprentice will support different departments and work in a supervised environment for the majority of their training period. They will start in September of each year and progress through the salary scales, which are linked to the successful achievements of each year of their college course. Full time apprentices will typically spend 15 months on-programme (before the gateway) working towards the occupational standard, with off the-job training.
The purpose of the end point assessment (EPA) is to test that an apprentice is fully capable of doing their job before they receive their apprenticeship certificate. It also helps to demonstrate that what an apprentice has learned, can be applied in the real world.
