This position also requires application and monitoring of established quality procedures and methods for production batches. Compiles, tabulates and summarizes QC data for analysis. Prepares and offers constructive criticisms relative to variables and deviations from prescribed standards of quality. Maintains statistical records having to do with quality, nature and causes of defects. Expedites and follows up changes to allow for prescribed quality standards. Request raw materials for use in formulas. Position requires knowledge of batch making techniques, machinery operation, scales and meter use, and formula knowledge.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Weigh and/or measure out quantities of solvents, resins, pigments (or dispersions), and additives into blending tanks or grinding mills according to a batch ticket. Tend mixing or grinding equipment and maintain control over time, heat, mix speed, etc. Upon batch completion, take product sample to QC Lab for QC checks.
