This is a hands on, field-based role, focused on the service and repair of industrial cleaning equipment. You’ll be part of a supportive team, working closely with your Service Manager and Scheduler to deliver a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities for the Regional Service Engineer
Service, maintain and repair a wide range of cleaning equipment

What You’ll Need

Comfortable carrying out servicing, maintenance and fault finding in a field-based role
Able to work independently, with support from your Service Manager and Scheduler
Good IT skills and experience completing service reports
Strong organisational skills and ability to plan your daily workload
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays

Attend Gloucestershire Engineering Training for the first year to acquire basic foundation engineering skills
Study towards the Level Three Advanced Apprenticeship programme, undertaking a National Vocational Qualification and Technical Certificate qualification
Responsible for helping production machines and processes run safely, smoothly and efficiently to meet quality and production targets
This includes setting up and adjusting machines, changing tools and fixtures, setting cameras and teaching robots or loaders how to handle parts correctly

The role will be split between site work and work in our offices at Clapham. Your involvement in the first year will be with our Metallurgy and Steelwork Inspection departments, from there you will spend time in each of our other departments including the Construction Materials, Building Inspection and Investigation departments and Geology. In all cases full training will be given and the level of involvement in the different areas will grow as training and competence develops. In addition to building on general laboratory techniques, you will learn to perform specific tests along with sample preparation techniques, mechanical testing and measurement of properties. Additionally, there will be site based work where you will develop inspection techniques, gain experience in further testing types as well as the practicalities of site testing and taking site notes.
Lab Based
Preparation of samples from bulk materials to sample ready for testing
Undertaking testing such as strength, compression
Use of general workshop machines including saws, drills, coring rigs and linishers

Load testing especially on barriers (making sure barriers are safe)
