Calibration Lab:
Performing maintenance, repairs, and testing on various calibration equipment as per customer requirements, as well as for internal engineers for scheduled field-based jobs
Calibration of temperature, level, flow, electrical and pressure equipment
Calibrating equipment in line with UKAS standards, ensuring calibration equipment are safe, compliant, and certified against national and internationally recognised standards under supervision of the Lab and Accreditation Manager
Panel Lab:
Design and code Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to automate processes according to customer specifications
Build and assemble automated systems based on design plans
Perform validation and testing of control panels and associated equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with specifications
Create detailed electrical and mechanical schematic drawings using CAD software
Field Based:
Shadow and as appropriate assist field-based engineers with calibration service jobs at customer sites to ensure systems operate correctly
Provide on-site support for equipment breakdowns. Diagnose issues, advise on solutions, and either perform immediate repairs or schedule follow-up service. If necessary, send parts to the lab for further analysis or repair under the supervision of the field-based engineer
Install and commission control panels and systems at customer sites. Ensure the installed systems operate as specified and meet customer requirements

The apprenticeship is supported by Make UK and leads to a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician qualification. During your training at Make UK, you will travel to Birmingham and stay in a fully funded hotel, on a half board basis. All travel to and from Birmingham, your breakfast and evening meal and accommodation are all paid for by Tennant.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision and as training progresses, you will:
Assist in servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of cleaning equipment (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems)
Shadow experienced Service Technicians during field visits to customer sites
Learn to carry out fault diagnosis, repairs, and preventative maintenance
Support customer communication and provide operator training
Help maintain accurate job records and stock management
Adhere to all health & safety policies and quality standards
Attend college/workshops as required by the apprenticeship programme

Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure machines are in safe working condition for production.
Contribute to preventative maintenance development and maintenance schedules.

Technical Application Specialist
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Technical Application Specialist ensures proper application of Tremco products in accordance with company and industry guidelines by providing both on-site and office-based problem resolution assistance. This individual is a technical liaison between the business and Tremco's field-based internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide or obtain accurate and timely product application, qualification, and/or troubleshooting services to internal colleagues and external business partners
Assist with general on-site product application, training, and general substrate review.
Assist with the generation and maintenance of technical documentation and collateral with various internal departments. Examples include application instructions, technical data sheets, technical marketing collateral, product training programs, 3rd party testing/validation reports, and other product assets.
Assist in the collection of laboratory data forproject and/or product-specific testing.
Assist with and/or perform in-field and in-house analytical lab testing to confirm the chemical compatibility and physical adhesion properties of Tremco products on specified jobs, for evaluating new areas of application, new product development, and competitive product analysis.
Conduct jobsite observations/evaluations with customers and field sales reps to make accurate and timely product and installation recommendations.
Compose official letters and/or corporate communiques, including installation instructions, job qualification parameters, and competitive product comparisons along with assisting in the development of detail drawings to help secure sales opportunities.
Provide or obtain accurate and timely answers to inquiries on product usage, comparative competitive products, web-site navigation, product specifications, repair techniques, assessment and/or remedial course of action recommendations for jobsite problems, environmental regulations, construction sequencing, and technical product property questions.
Ensure product performance through proper recommendation of jobsite qualification and application techniques.
Possess and leverage a basic knowledge of Tremco's product portfolio. Learn assigned core product line technology while assisting higher level Application Specialists with occasional direction.
Provide clear written and verbal technical support and product recommendations to internal and external stakeholders including sales representatives, technical representatives, owners, architects, engineers, contractors, installers, etc.

Work with project managers on designing and installing PLC controls for capital projects. Work with Allen-Bradley PLC's to maintain and improve current operations. Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost, increase material utilization, improve first time right, integrate new products/processes into production and reduce variation. Implement necessary changes and update all documentation (including drawings and SOP's) accordingly. Coordinates with plant engineer to oversee capital projects necessary for the continued improvement and modernization of the plant. Ensure completion of projects within budgets. Responsible for achieving and maintaining safety goals relative to the maintenance and engineering functions. Responsible for safety devices, safe design, etc. of all equipment. Administer process hazard analyses (PHA's) for identified materials, processes, and RHP Compliance. Create and maintain P&IDs for current and future processes. Support the implementation of statistical process control by implementation of data collection systems Support the site's environmental program by assisting with reporting, compliance monitoring, and QA results in support of process engineering improvements. Troubleshooting machinery, including PLC coding adjustments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering. 0 to 3 years' experience in manufacturing environment. Six Sigma/lean manufacturing experience. Safety and ergonomic experience. Understanding of process control methods, flowmeters, level monitors, and other process controls within a batch manufacturing process. Mechanically inclined with a hands-on approach Previous Capital Project experience Ability to read and interpret process drawings Strong interpersonal skills: good communication skills both written and verbal. Strong Analytical & Troubleshooting skills. PC usage with MS Office Suite Strong AutoCAD skillset. (3D design utilizing Inventor Professional or Solidworks is plus) Experience with PLC's, Allen Bradley is desired.
