Field Maintenance Engineer

FIELD MAINTENANCE ENGINEER – CONGLETON (Field Based across the UK) - £31000.00 - £35000.00We are working with a global leading manufacturing/engineering company. We are recruiting for experienced Field Maintenance Engineers to work from their Congleton site but the role will require extensive travelling across the UK, with some European travel from time to time.FIELD MAINTENANCE ENGINEER JOB PURPOSETo travel throughout the UK to conduct various tasks including maintenance, repairs and servicing of plant equipment. The role will require being away from home Monday morning to Friday afternoon on a regular basis.You will responsible for taking machinery apart, check for damages and wearing parts which will be repaired or replaced. JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Technician - Industrial Coatings Location: St. Louis, MO Summary: Join our Research & Development team and play a hands-on role in developing and improving corrosion-resistant coatings, linings, and fireproofing products. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced lab professionals to support day-to-day operations, contribute to product development, and help ensure quality and performance standards are met. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of at least one year of college-level chemistry coursework or 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience preferred. Must pass a Jaeger Eye Test. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Exposure to various chemicals, including but not limited to amines, polyamides, isocyanates, epoxies, alkyds, acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. Must be able to pass an annual respirator medical evaluation and pulmonary function test in accordance with OSHA regulations. Essential Functions: Operate laboratory instruments and equipment while following established testing procedures. Maintain accurate, organized laboratory notes and documentation; assist with report writing as needed. Conduct quality control testing, grade test panels, and collect data for product evaluation and troubleshooting. Utilize laboratory computer systems for reporting, formula calculations, graphics, and inventory tracking. Support the preparation and evaluation of lab-scale batches according to prescribed formulas. Learn and apply coating techniques using spray, roller, and brush methods. Reference and follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for raw materials and finished goods. Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality procedures, including proper use of PPE and hazardous material handling. Proactively identify hazards, support injury prevention efforts, and report incidents promptly. Collaborate positively with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional partners. Complete required training (including RCRA Hazardous Waste and Contingency Plan) and apply it in daily work. Demonstrate a strong commitment to company safety and quality standards. Assist in training of new technicians, installing new equipment, work with aerosol machine associates and answer any questions concerning adjustments on equipment. • Perform and record results of inspections of label applications, capping and pressure seals, can weights. • Stage consumable supplies such as labels, glue, straws, cans and caps to ensure continuous flow of filling operations. • Perform line conversions to prepare new products for filling operations. • Ensure proper use of raw materials, finished goods, scrap and rejects. Complete and submit requisitions to request or return materials to stock. Check in all materials according to the work order. • Dispose of scrap cans, spills or ruptured cans, spraying out contents of scrap cans and cleaning leaked product from machinery, floors, walls, etc. • Maintain cleanliness and safety of machines and work area. • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and rebuild equipment (PM). Diagnose problems, work with engineers, supervisors, co-workers to get the problem solved. Maintains PM's, rebuild gas pumps, material pumps, boosters, gas boosters, etc. Operate milling machines, drill presses, tools and measuring tools. • Develop ways to increase the effectiveness of machines and equipment. Install new piping, improve designs of machines and equipment. Requirements: • Education: Equivalent to a basic high school education and formal training in a technical field with certificate of completion. • Experience: One year of experience in a similar or related position.
