My client, based near Stamford, is a market-leading engineering and manufacturing business specialising in critical power testing equipment used across industries including power generation, data centres, marine, defence and industrial manufacturing. They are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to become a key driver of Lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities across the production environment.
Key responsibilities for this Manufacturing Technician position based near Stamford:
Participate in Kaizen events, process improvement initiatives and 5S projects across the manufacturing facility
Support the implementation of visual management systems, standard work practices and workplace organisation improvements
Lead small-scale continuous improvement projects and Quick Kaizen activities to eliminate waste and improve efficiency
Support Root Cause Analysis activities using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone and PDCA
Assist with the documentation and tracking of continuous improvement activities and their results
Conduct informal 5S audits and support compliance with standardised work processes
Help develop and maintain standard work documentation across manufacturing operations

Once you're trained and confident, you'll independently run fire tests following testing procedures correctly to enable accreditation to be maintained. You'll look after your tools and equipment – the company takes pride in ensuring everything is in top shape. You'll contribute towards the general operation and housekeeping of the laboratory facilities and ensure the quality and safety procedures are followed within the designated laboratory areas. Work smart and support your teammates to make the most of the lab resources.

The apprentice will learn all aspects of print production, working across both the press room and finishing departments. Duties will include:
Preparing materials for production
Assisting with press operation
Monitoring print quality
Setting up and operating finishing equipment
Packing finished products
Carrying out quality checks
Maintaining production records and supporting experienced operators to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to customer specifications
Training:The apprentice will work towards the Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Training will be delivered by BPIF Training through a combination of on-the-job learning, remote training sessions and regular workplace visits from a dedicated trainer. The programme covers health and safety, print production, quality control, workflows and problem solving.
Successful completion will lead to a nationally recognised Level 3 Print Technician qualification.Training Outcome:Upon successful completion, the apprentice may be offered a permanent position within our production team. With further training and experience, there are opportunities to progress into skilled Press Technician, Print Finishing Technician, Senior Operator or Team Leader roles.

Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:
Perform routine, corrective, and breakdown repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment.
Perform daily checks and fitting tasks with pumps, motors, heat exchanges, drives, vessels and pipework.
Ensure all work complies with company standards, policies, and procedures, minimizing risks to personnel, the environment, and company assets.
Support and contribute to planning and scheduling strategies to provide optimal service to operating departments.
Work across various departments to meet operational goals while adhering to company standards.
Assist in the Competency-Based Training of departmental staff as needed.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience needed of the Maintenance Technician:
A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Previous experience in an industrial environment within Chemical, Process Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas industries.
Has experience working on a COMAH site (Ideal).
Hands-on experience with pumps, Heat Exchangers, Motors is essential.
Pipefitting and Fabrication would be beneficial.
