The role of COMPEX Electrician
As the COMPEX Electrician, you will be working in accordance with technical electrical drawings. You will also work to instructions for fabrication and installation of cable containment and cabling. The role of the COMPEX Electrician is to ensure the electrical installation is in compliance with the relevant British Standards including the latest revisions.
Key Responsibilities
To have a good understanding of the types of industrial electrical work to be carried out.
To understand and adhere to RAMS.
To carry out duties in a manner that endangers neither themselves nor others and to ensure correct personal use of PPE in accordance with the site they are working on and what is specified in the RAMS to which they are working to.
To understand and work in accordance with construction plans & drawings.
Ensure the electrical Installation is carried out to a high standard and in accordance with relevant British standards including the latest revision.
To attend and engage in regular toolbox talks with electrical Installation personnel.
Travel to other sites and locations will be required.

Essential Skills and Experience Needed of the COMPEX Electrician:
CompEx Qualified Electrician is desired (or equivalent 18th Edition, City and Guilds, NVQ, ECS Gold Card etc).
COMPEX 1-4 (desirable but not required to hold 5 & 6).
Experience of working in industrial or manufacturing industries (e.g. chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, heavy industry manufacturing etc).
Strong working knowledge of British Electrical Standards.
Ability to read and understand Construction Plans and Drawings.
A full UK Driving License will be essential for this role.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating and improving processes within Stonhard manufacturing operations. Additionally, the Process Engineer is responsible for implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, capital project support, production efficiency, maintenance process improvements, and equipment reliability.
Essential Functions
Lead root cause analysis for process failures.
Develop and maintain standard work instructions.
Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis for areas of responsibility.
Improves production line efficiency to show a measurable increase in OEE.
Support maintenance in equipment troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of I/O, PLC, and 24V controls is preferred. Programming a plus.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems preferred.
Design and coordinate fabrication of manufacturing support components.
Support day-to-day production operations.
Re-engineer existing equipment to meet new optimization, reliability, safety, throughput, and process requirements.
Evaluate and make recommendations, which will increase output and decrease costs by addressing/improving workflow, ergonomics, time/motion characteristics, cycle-times, set-up times, waste, etc.
Confer with management and general staff to implement plans and recommendations.
Ensure CI project goals are met and sustained through the development of effective control plans.
Ensure Continuous Improvement processes and procedures are followed and adhered to through auditing and process confirmation practices.
Lead C.I. initiatives in areas of 5S, Waste Reduction, Value-Stream Mapping, etc.
Ensure appropriate validations are completed as part of solution implementation.
Downtime Loss Analysis and Reduction - Start-up & Changeovers downtime improvement
Equipment failure (Structured failure analysis 5W's, Fishbone analysis)
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred but not required.
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience preferably in a GMP environment.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Benefits and Compensation
The pay range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $65,000 and $75,000. The range is an estimate based on potential employee qualification operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Practical Foundation Training – in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Workplace Competence Training - in years 2 to 4 in company
Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge - in Years 1, 2 & 3 on block release to Make UK
In house training in line with your requirements.
Further qualifications deemed necessary by your employer
On completion of your studies, you will achieve your full apprenticeship certification that will prove competence as a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Engineering Technician.Training Outcome:Should the candidate successfully complete the apprenticeship, possibility of a full time Mechanical/Electrical maintenance Engineering role within the business.

Footwear manufacturing is highly skilled work. As a Dr. Martens apprentice, you will be working alongside the production team at our Made in England Factory, Wollaston, Northamptonshire, where our iconic 1460 boot was born. Surrounded by our footwear production experts, you’ll learn in a supportive and collaborative fast-paced environment, integrating traditional hands-on skills with innovative manufacturing technology. You will learn the footwear production process from start to finish.
Daily activities will include gaining experience in the following areas:
Clicking: operating cutting presses to specified quality standards, minimising wastage of skins and using innovative leather scanning and digital cutting technology
Closing: creating Dr. Martens uppers using a variety of sewing machines and other specialist machinery
Lasting: shaping the shoe around a last and attaching the sole to our famous yellow stitched welt
Shoe room: adding the final touches- lacing, cleaning, and boxing ready for dispatch
Training:The apprenticeship runs for 15 months in our Made in England factory. You will learn everything to do with Dr. Martens footwear manufacturing as well as aspects such as the tanning process, sizing, other footwear constructions and health and safety.
We are closely connected with Northampton College, where you will study and learn throughout the year, as well as with other companies in the footwear industry around Northamptonshire.
Your study programme will require you to attend Northampton College two days per month.

Work hands-on with our product from day one, learning real skills whilst getting paid
Be a Dr. Martens brand ambassador, knowledgeable about the history of footwear and the iconic brand
Take an active role in social media, helping to run the Apprenticeship Instagram account and growing our followers
Learn various elements of footwear construction- the tanning process, leather inspection and quality control
Create your very own custom pair of DMs as part of your final project
Following successful completion of your Apprenticeship, you’ll receive a government accredited qualification in Footwear Manufacturing - Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Footwear.Training Outcome:
For graduate apprentices, there's the potential for a permanent position in the factory, where you will develop and hone your craft while continuing to learn new skills alongside former apprentices
