Position Summary:
Carboline is seeking a Market Manager to oversee their Fireproofing Segment reporting into the Vice President of Marketing. This person will be responsible for driving the sales organization, growing volume and revenue, and increasing profitability for Carboline's fireproofing market. Strategic activities include direction of product development, qualification testing, sales tool development, advertising, tradeshows, technical papers, competitive analysis, and promotions aimed at assigned market space. Works closely with the Product Line Management team, field sales representatives, technical service and sales management
Location: Seeking candidates located near a major airport with the ability to travel frequently.
Minimum Requirements: 4-year Business or Marketing degree or equivalent experience, minimum of 5 years marketing or sales experience. Minimum of 5 years in Protective Coatings or Fireproofing industry. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires minimal physical activity but does require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day. No unusual environmental, lifting or exertion requirements are associated with this position. Will require travel up (30 - 40%).
Essential Functions:
Leads Sales team in determining what is needed to support sales development, grow volume, and add profitability in each specific market. Maintain consistent two-way communication with field reps. Achieve annual sales and margin objectives in addition to new product release goals. Understand both long term and short-term competitive pressures and testing needs in assigned market and develop strategies to address. Develop pricing recommendation for the market. Identify the top owners and buying accounts for the market Determine product development needs to attack assigned market and offset competitive threats. Design and implement a strategy to profitably grow assigned market. Be the face of Carboline for the assigned market. Determine testing needs for the market, drive qualification testing needs, champion the testing effort, transform results into information that the sales team can use to generate sales. Steer advertising and trade show activity. Participate in industry activities (tradeshows, technical papers) associated with assigned market. Use these activities to gain market knowledge and to position Carboline in the forefront of the market space. Responsible for updating/maintaining training information and support literature located on Carbolink and the website for the assigned market. Promote new product sales by clearly identifying product use and purpose in assigned market. Identify specific market spaces where product is beneficial. Take on special assignments as directed by management. Ensure that Total Quality policies and procedures are met. Perform additional duties as assigned Commit to the Company's safety and quality programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

This person will manage and supervise all Carboline North American product development, product line maintenance, and appropriate laboratory services, manufacturing, marketing and sales support. Coordinate with and support global product development and product maintenance.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in chemistry or related field, minimum 10 years R&D experience, minimum 5 years Supervisory or Management experience.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires minimal physical activity but does require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day. Some exposure to chemicals including but not limited to: Amines, Polyamides, Isocyanates, Epoxies, Alkyds, Acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds No unusual lifting or exertion requirements are associated with this position. Travel Requirement: 5-10%
Essential Functions:
Supervises the R&D Segment Technical Directors Participate in Stage gate process for product development Drives product development efficiency Directs and manages North American R&D organization to achieve overall Laboratory goals and objectives, both short and long term Prepares and controls overall Laboratory operating costs, capital budget, and testing expenses Develops and communicates overall Laboratory project progress on a monthly basis Maintains accuracy and integrity of lab results to assure all product data files, data sheets, testing info, etc., is accurate Coordinates or directs overall Laboratory program for technical training, management training, and employee development Manages and supervises the short and long-term product development process from an R&D perspective. Reviews product development information given by the Technical Staff and approved the technical release of Developmental Products Coordinates overall outside Research & Development programs Works with Operations, Sales, and Marketing to make sure products can be commercialized and products meet customer expectations Supervises and maintains proper Quality Control. Process to maintain product integrity and product certification (nuclear) Develop Carboline Technical Image through participation in outside societies such as AMPP, ASTM, etc. Take an active role in hazard recognition and injury prevention by following all safety rules & regulations Perform additional duties as assigned Commit to the Company's safety and quality programs.

The Role;
Working as part of a busy team in the production and distribution of their product
General production and warehouse duties, including the housekeeping on site.
Reporting defects and issues with production in a timely manner
Loading and Unloading baskets ready for production
The Person;
Must have excellent communication skills, have a confident and approachable attitude
Must be able to work on own initiative as well as working within a team environment
Previous production experience is beneficial
Must be able to reliably commute to St Helens daily, attendance is key to the role
The Rewards;
