This role requires a Social Work Qualification with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience in permanent contract/s.
About the team
This team works with vulnerable and emotionally reactive teenagers which have been subject to trauma and distressing life events and are seeking asylum. Completing return home interviews, completing relevant assessments involving CSE and trauma informed work are key in the day-to-day responsibilities of this role. Working with each individual, building trusting and positive relationships throughout each case is essential to ensure positive outcomes.
About you
It is essential to have a degree within Social Work (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with a minimum of three years’ experience within Children’s Social Work in permanent contract/s. Experience in children in care, UASC, CSE and adolescents work is key to be successful in this position. A valid UK driving licence and vehicle is required to qualify for this role.

The post holder will have a good understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and how this can affect victims, particularly young people transitioning into adulthood. The IDVA (YP Specialist) will work within a dynamic, fast-paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. A key part of the role will also include working with key agencies such as youth services and educational settings to improve their awareness of domestic violence and the impact this can have on young people. This can only be done by establishing positive, proactive and innovative working relationships with services providing support to young people and partner agencies within the Black Country.
