To work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support for Pupils:
Attend to the pupils’ personal needs and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
To supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning
Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate
Support pupils in accessing learning activities as directed by the teacher
Support for the Teacher:
Prepare the classroom as directed for lessons and clear afterwards and assist with the display of pupils' work
Be aware of pupil problems/progress/achievements and report to the teacher as agreed
Undertake pupil record keeping as requested and other basic record keeping
Support the teacher in managing pupil behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate
Gather/report information from/to parents/carers as directed
Provide clerical/administrative support e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, collecting/recording money etc.
Ensure the maintenance of a clean and orderly working environment
Timely and accurate preparation of routine equipment/resources/materials as set out in instructions
Assist the teacher with learning activities ensuring health and safety and good behaviour of pupils
Support for the Curriculum:
Support pupils to understand instructions
Support pupils in respect of aspects of learning with the curriculum
Support pupils in using basic ICT as directed
Prepare and maintain equipment/resources as directed by the teacher and assist pupils in their use
Monitor and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies
Operation of everyday equipment in accordance with instructions

The Studio and Technical Production Apprentice will manage all on-air and online content whilst managing the day-to-day operation of the radio.
1. Studio Management
a. Day-to-day operations – the apprentice will learn to manage presenter absences and update the weekly programming rota.
b. Zara Studio Updates – the apprentice will be responsible for updating Azan times, regular repeat shows and overnight playlists.
c. Advert Schedule – the apprentice will update weekly rotations and produce playout logs.
2. Content Creation
a. Advert Production – The apprentice will learn to produce adverts as part of their role and assist the station manager in this task.
b. Publications – The apprentice will produce a weekly presenter rota, a monthly namaz timetable and programme promotions.
c. Website – the apprentice will assist with the creation of a brand-new website.
d. Social Media and Podcasting – the apprentice will learn to edit content from programmes and publications to upload to our social media channels.
e. Editing – the apprentice will learn to select the best on-air content for repeats.
f. Music Collection – the apprentice will assist with collecting more music to be regularly played, especially English and Arabic tracks.

3. Station Development
a. The apprentice will assist the station manager in developing a dedicated podcast studio.

Your training will include:
Preparing slate and granite for engraving (cutting, cleaning, and masking)
Operating our core machinery such as vinyl plotters and sandblasting equipment. You’ll also gain experience using CNC and laser engraving machinery to broaden your technical knowledge
Painting, finishing, and sealing completed signs
Quality checking and packaging products for delivery
Assisting with layout and design preparation using computer software
Helping with product photography and supporting social media posts or website listings
Assisting with customer support, design requests, and mock-ups via email or phone
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
Supporting stock management, job sheets, and dispatch
Learning and development:
Actively support the lead signmaker throughout the manufacturing process
Ensure records, admin, and production sheets are accurately maintained
Take part in regular training and development activities to build confidence across both workshop and digital tasks

As a Signage Technician Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced craftsmen in a busy workshop, learning both traditional and modern sign-making skills. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in every stage of the process, gaining a complete understanding of how our high-quality products are created and delivered.
Your training will include:
Preparing slate and granite for engraving (cutting, cleaning, and masking)
Operating our core machinery such as vinyl plotters and sandblasting equipment. You’ll also gain experience using CNC and laser engraving machinery to broaden your technical knowledge

Quality checking and packaging products for delivery
