We are looking for a cohort of Apprentice Welders to join our Energy division who design, build, and maintain critical national infrastructure on behalf of UK energy transmission and distribution network owners. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Manually weld tubes and pipes to high standards of quality and integrity using a Manual Metal Arc (MMA) and a minimum of one other manual arc welding processes from Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Plasma Arc Welding (PAW), Metal Inert Gas (MIG)/Metal Active Gas (MAG) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
Continually monitor and adapt to achieve the quality of work demanded by high integrity piping systems, necessitating significant manual dexterity, and coordination.
Work to detailed engineering specifications necessary to ensure safe & reliable operation of the finished pipe work system.
Interaction with a wide range of people and organisations including Supervisors, Engineers, Pipe Fitters, Stores Operatives, Welding Inspectors, Non-Destructive Technicians, Quality personnel.
Pipe welders’ work is regularly assessed to ensure continued quality of welding though visual inspection, non-destructive testing and pre-commissioning pressure testing (hydraulic or pneumatic testing.
Responsible for the safety, quality, productivity and accuracy of their own work whilst ensuring it conforms to a relevant pipe welding specification.
Working autonomously during their planning and production activities to being an integrated part of a wider team working on the overall pipework system, reporting to a workplace supervisor
Clean and take care of company tools and equipment
Training:As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto the Level 3 Pipe Welder Apprenticeship qualification with one our training partner Riverside College. During the first year on your programme you will attend college full time at the Riverside and Cronton campuses, and will spend some of the holiday periods on site at our Golborne office. At the end of your first academic year, you will begin working on site full-time and will then attend college one day per week to continue your studies. You will be fully supported through a variety of methods such as classroom taught sessions, learning materials, and one-to-one support from your tutor or coach. As our next Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technician you’ll be happy to work hands on in this manual role. There is a significant amount of bending and lifting which can make this job physically demanding.

The role is integral to our Fleet Services team within Leeds City Council. We have a team of around 70 staff who are responsible for the maintenance and management of our mixed vehicle fleet of around 1200 vehicles. In addition to the 3 apprentices that we are taking on, we have a team of 26 Vehicle Technicians, many of whom joined us as apprentices originally. Much of our work is to ensure we remain compliant with the Operator’s Licence which governs the Large and Heavy Goods Vehicles that we run.
Key tasks for apprentices will include:
Learning about different vehicle types and the responsibilities and schedule that Fleet Services work to to inspect, maintain and repair our varied vehicle fleet.
Working on vehicles to be able to accurately identify and effectively repair issues identified.

1. Performing Arts Support
To assist with the day-to-day operations of the Drama Department, as directed by the Head of Drama/Facilities Manager. To provide technical support and to prepare technical facilities for drama sessions, rehearsals, performances and events

Producing promotional/information posters, films and images for the school/trust
Troubleshooting for room systems, including microphones, cameras, and desktop PC’s and laptops
Perform system maintenance and updates as appropriate
Working with the IT team to resolve support tickets, calls and emails and keeping users up to date on the progress of their issues
Support all AV troubleshooting, including video conferencing and audio-conferencing room systems, projectors, digital screens, and other related equipment.

Welding is a safety critical occupation, and every welder takes responsibility for the quality and accuracy of their work. General Welders are required to produce joints that satisfy basic quality standards to ensure that the finished products function correctly, contributing to the safety of all and the global quality of life.
There is a highly complex range of welding skills: the different arc welding processes require different levels of manual dexterity, knowledge, and skill to avoid making defective welds. There are a wide range of metallic materials that can be welded, each with different properties and behaviors.
Attend Doncaster Lindsey College to study towards a Level 2 qualification in Welding, whilst acquiring new skills in the workplace through on the job training
Learn both the theory, and practical application of MAG, MMA & Sub-Arc welding processes on carbon steel, as well as gain an appreciation of other welding processes and materials
Develop skills and competence in manufacturing processes from technical drawing to completion
Deal with ancillary plant items from a manufacturing and repair perspective

Training:The 12–15-month training programme combines practical and theory-based learning. Your training will start with two classroom phases, lasting around 3 months, based at Ponteland alongside other PCSO's on your course.
From the essentials like safety training and first aid to decision making and communication skills, your study will encompass all the skills and knowledge you need ready for the next step in your training. Some of your study will be delivered as tutorials, role-plays, self-study or e-learning.
As part of the second phase of your training, you’ll start work in frontline policing. You’ll be based at a police station alongside your experienced colleagues in a neighbourhood team. You’ll be working one-to-one with an experienced tutor who will support you in putting your learning into practice as part of your operational duties.
