Our client is a global leader in engineering and manufacturing, delivering specialist process equipment and engineering solutions across a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Service Technician to join their team based in Congleton.This is a field-based role requiring extensive travel throughout the UK, with occasional travel across Europe. The successful candidate should expect to work away from home from Monday morning to Friday afternoon on a regular basis, with all travel and accommodation expenses covered.The Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out the maintenance, servicing, repair and installation of specialist industrial plant equipment at customer sites throughout the UK. This is a hands-on role involving mechanical fitting, fault finding and preventative maintenance, ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently.Key Responsibilities
Carry out mechanical maintenance, servicing and repairs on industrial plant equipment.Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections and breakdown repairs.Dismantle machinery for cleaning, inspection and replacement of worn or damaged components.Reassemble, install and commission equipment following maintenance or repair work.Travel to customer sites across the UK, with occasional visits to Europe.Assist with equipment installation, commissioning and on-site fault finding.Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.Communicate professionally with customers and internal departments.Assist with stock control and spare parts management at the Congleton facility.Work safely within industrial environments while following company health and safety procedures.Undertake physically demanding work, including lifting, dismantling and handling heavy mechanical components.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience as a Service Technician, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer or in a similar mechanical engineering role.Strong mechanical fitting and industrial maintenance experience.Experience servicing, repairing and fault finding on industrial machinery.Previous experience within the water, gas, process, manufacturing, energy or nuclear sectors would be highly advantageous.Experience working with industrial pipework and associated mechanical equipment.A practical approach to diagnosing faults and identifying effective solutions.The flexibility to work away from home throughout the working week.A full UK driving licence.Excellent communication and customer service skills.The ability to work independently as well as part of a small engineering team.Good physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling and physically demanding activities.

As an apprentice, you will learn every stage of the manufacturing process, from component production to heat treatment, machining, surface finishing and metrology
You will produce complex components which can only be created using 3D printing for major customers in aerospace, automotive and electronics (this could include high-end sports cars, VR headsets, aerospace engines, rocket nozzles and more)
As well as the production stages, you will also learn how to maintain and calibrate key equipment and manage stock. There will also be opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement (CI) projects to help Alloyed meet the changing demands from engineering teams
