The Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship Scheme recruits and develops A-Level/B-TEC qualified (or equivalent) individuals to become the next generation of nuclear engineers, scientists and inspectors. Nuclear Degree Apprentices will develop an understanding of working on Nuclear Licensed Sites, and the regulation of such, supporting the safe design, build, commissioning, operation and decommissioning of the civil nuclear industry including power generation.
The Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship is a five-year programme, during which you will work towards the Level 6 Nuclear Scientist & Nuclear Engineer Standard.
This involves an initial phase of engineering appreciation and awareness, followed by a series of exciting placements within areas such as nuclear integration, plant operation, maintenance, testing, commissioning and nuclear safety, inspection and regulation.

Your Role
An exciting opportunity to join one of the largest national law firms in the UK. You will be supporting the Sheffield Costs Team in recovering legal costs for the firm.
As part of the UK’s largest internal legal costs team, Irwin Mitchell’s costs lawyers are uniquely placed to offer the same high level of service to external clients as well. Our team of 135 includes 36 qualified costs lawyers, 3 qualified solicitors, and 5 qualified ‘Fellow’ CILEx Chartered Legal Executives. We are involved with 650 contentious court hearings and 1500 claims for costs per year with values up to £5m.
We are experienced with all areas of costs and funding for legal services and can help with:
Recovering legal costs from the losing side of a case.
Representing you in court hearings to recover or challenge legal costs payments.
Preparing budgets and estimates for the costs of running a legal case.
Claiming legal costs from the Legal Services Commission.
Advising clients and institutions about the best way to fund your legal costs.
Drafting documents and contracts for costs services, e.g. Collective Conditional Agreements.
Paralegals support solicitors in preparing cases for trial and progressing transactions. This involves creating and organising case files, as well as contacting clients and performing legal research. This programme offers a great grounding for a career in law.
Your main responsibilities within the department will include the following:
As well as being the point of contact for clients and therefore need to have excellent communication skills; you will undertake jobs such as setting up utilities/insurance/purchasing equipment/paying invoices/dealing with employee payroll/checking bank statements accuracy and general management of budgets.
You will need to become familiar with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and will work with clients who may have suffered brain injury as a result of medical negligence or accidents.
Communicating with clients, other firms of solicitors and third parties by telephone or in writing including taking client instructions and providing case updates when appropriate.
Achieve time recording and fee income targets to ensure profitable working.
Ensuring compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures.
Attending appropriate training events as and when required.
Conducting legal research as requested by members of the team.
You may sometimes be required to complete relevant administration duties including photocopying, scanning documents, amending documentation, filing, archiving and file maintenance.

Our Property Services business revitalises homes and communities through the regeneration of living spaces, breathing new life into neighbourhoods. We are looking for an Apprentice to join the Resident Liaison Team, who are the key point of contact for residents who are having work done to improve their homes.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
Supporting the team with administration duties, resident visits and courtesy calls addressing any actions promptly
Undertaking courtesy telephone calls to tenants, prior to customer satisfaction surveys being issued to them
Supporting Health and Safety presentations for local school visits within the local community
Supporting effective and regular communication with residents through the coordination and administration of newsletters, meetings, daily visits, open days and group events etc.
Ensuring effective and regular communication/information is provided to the resident throughout the course of works including pre-start documentation, issuing of notices, information about the scope of works, associated timescales and any changes to the programme
Assisting the team with recording and photographing the condition of white goods/working area for every property, before work commences. Ensuring that records are appropriately saved
Assisting the team with product training for residents
Ensuring all appropriate records and documentation is maintained confidentially and in line with GDPR
Assisting with recording complaints/alleged damage claims to residents’ property/personal belongings. Supporting the team in proactively investigating and resolving complaints
Helping to monitor trends in complaints/communication logs and report accordingly
Liaising closely with the site team and work colleagues ensuring feedback is shared and acted upon

Training:As an Apprentice with United Living, you’ll be given a real job from day one where you will gain hands-on industry experience, and the knowledge required to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. You’ll be inspired and stretched professionally, but fully supported by an expert network of colleagues, as you work to build the foundations for a career within United Living, and the construction industry.
As part of your apprenticeship programme you will be enrolled on the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship, which will be delivered by our training partner Smart Training and Recruitment. The programme is 15 months long and you will study online, spending one day per week working towards achieving your qualification. This could be attending a virtual classroom lesson or workshop, having 1:1 meeting with your tutor, completing online resources, completing research, or working on evidence to put in your portfolio. You will also meet regularly with your coach and your line manager to ensure you are progressing through your programme as expected. About The RoleThe Support Worker will provide a structured, personalised resettlement service to every service user at Mildmay House. To seek to support service users who have experienced homelessness to move into their own homes in a planned and supported way.To offer advice, training, information and one-to-one/group support to help service users through this process. The support offered very much depends on the individual, but can include advice on housing rights, accompanying individuals to meetings, and practical support to move in, such as obtaining furniture and setting up payment plans for household bills. To undertake administrative and operational duties across the various departments within the MIS and Exams services
