We are seeking a hands-on Operations Coordinator to manage and support external vehicle conversion partners delivering specialist build work for our business. Acting as the central link between internal teams and third-party contractors, you will ensure vehicles are converted to specification, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
This is not a purely desk-based role. You will use your practical knowledge of vehicle conversion, coachbuilding, or specialist vehicle manufacturing to challenge processes, support build teams on-site, and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator -
Third-Party Converter Management
Serve as the primary contact for external vehicle conversion partners
Support, train, and onboard converters to deliver new and existing vehicle build types
Ensure converters operate within their technical capability and production capacity

Build Support & Technical Coordination

You will learn how products are designed, manufactured, and assured to the highest standards while rotating through areas such as sheet metal fabrication, assembly, quality assurance, quality control, research and development, sales, and procurement. The successful candidate will join the team in February/March 2026 in a pre-apprenticeship role, with the registered apprenticeship and associated training beginning in September 2026. As an Engineering & Manufacturing Technician Apprentice, you will learn to support production with new product introduction, project requirements and continuous improvement.
Reporting into the Engineering manager. You will learn a variety of working activities that will in turn support the team to ensure that our products are delivered on time to quality, environmental and cost targets.
As an Engineering & Manufacturing Technician Apprentice, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, as part of the role, some of your responsibilities will be:
Learning and understanding the manufacturing processes and capabilities
Helping to create operating instructions and procedures
Supporting quality assurance and quality control activities
Providing support to production and engineering
Actioning manufacturing deficiency reports
Creating sales general arrangement drawings
Actioning change request notes
Producing drawings, models and bills of materials to sales and customers specifications

Training:As an Engineering & Manufacturing Technician Apprentice, you will be studying a Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Apprenticeship. As an Electrical Design Engineer here, you will take responsibility for electrical design activities across the product lifecycle, from early-stage concepts all the way through to production release. This will include control panel design, PLC integration and ensuring that all electrical systems meet stringent safety, quality and compliance requirements. This is a crucial role in delivering robust and manufacturable engineering solutions working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key responsibilities for the role of Electrical Design Engineer based in Gloucestershire:
Leading the electrical design of packaged pumping systems, including control panel layouts, schematic diagrams and cable schedules.
Researching and developing new product concepts while enhancing existing designs in response to customer, production and market feedback.
Specifying and selecting electrical components to meet performance, safety and compliance requirements.
Development and integration of PLC-based control systems including configuration, I/O definition and functional documentation (PLC programming experience would be useful but is not essential).
Producing and maintaining detailed electrical documentation including wiring diagrams, design calculations and BOMs.
Ensuring that all electrical designs comply with CE/UKCA requirements, Health & Safety regulations and relevant UK/EU directives (LVD, EMC, Machinery Directive).
Supporting EMC compliance through best-practice design and collaboration with external test facilities.
Collaborating with Mechanical Design, Compliance and Manufacturing teams to ensure design integrity and manufacturability.
Providing input into design reviews, risk assessments and verification/validation testing throughout the development lifecycle.
Key skills required for Gloucestershire based role of Electrical Design Engineer:
Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Proven experience in product design or development, (specific experience involving water management / fluid-handling equipment would be ideal but is not a pre-requisite).
Experience of working within R&D or New Product Development environments.
Proven experience of designing industrial/commercial control panels (a working knowledge of PLC-based control systems and Variable Speed Drives would be an advantage but is not a pre-requisite)
Solid experience in using CAD/schematic design software, experience of SolidWorks Electrical would be ideal but experience of EPLAN, or AutoCAD Electrical will also be considered.
Familiarity with key standards and directives, including:
– Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
– EMC Directive
– Machinery Directive
– BS EN 60204-1 (Electrical Equipment of Machines)
– EN 60335

Role & responsibilities:
On completion of apprenticeship the successful applicant will be competent in and responsible for the below disciplines:
Proficient in carrying out: MIG welding, TIG welding, Stick welding, MAG welding
Drafting and part conceptualisation
Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks)
Fundamental grasp of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Consumable stock control i.e. weld wire, electrode, etc.
Daily maintenance checks for chambers and welding sets
Part cleanliness checks prior to accepting to the welding activity
Proficient in TIG welding of titanium in a vacuum welding chamber
Proficient in TIG welding of titanium outside of vacuum welding chamber
Checks for chamber environment (oxygen PPM) pre weld
Assessment of excavation site i.e. the condition of the prep for welding, this may involve manual dressing to suit
Part cleaning through the Aqueous Degreasing Facility
Upkeep of weld wire usage logs
Welding components in accordance to the relevant WPS documentation
Conduct relevant weld qualification tests as required
Identify and follow correct metal work instructions, specifications, and drawings
Mark out using appropriate tools and techniques
Produce and assemble metal products to required specification and quality requirements
Identify and follow correct joining instructions, specifications and drawings
Produce work from structural materials
Weld mapping (when required)
Understanding of metallurgy
Knowledge of the foundry process and, in particular, casting manufacture and weld repair of casting defect
Become proficient in fabrication welding and design
Conduct pre-fabrication cutting and sizing of required metallic materials
In-depth understanding of casting upgrade
Participation in casting upgrade
Understanding of mould manufacture, both ceramic and sand
Understanding of the NDT (non-destructive testing) department
Proficient in the basic principles of melting and casting of both steel and titanium
Spend time within, and ascertain a good understanding of, all activities within CTI's UKAS-accredited laboratory
Achieve a proficient understanding of engineering design and manufacture
Spend time in all manufacturing areas of the business
Have a high-regard for Health & Safety
Maintain a good standard of housekeeping
Visual inspection of welds by other welders (post training)
Responsibilities are not limited to the above
Training:You will study on a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Level 3 standard.
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the training centre for one day a week for knowledge study.Training Outcome:Completion of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications which are acknowledged and respected by employers across the world.
