Subsequent years:
Subsequent years will comprise day or block release training at a specialist college where you will study for an HNC in Engineering/Mechatronics, and on-the-job training in a Fulfilment/Sortation Centre or Delivery Station among our team of technicians and engineers

Not only will you receive invaluable learning, development and professional experience, but you will also gain a number of externally recognised qualifications and your bachelor’s degree
On successful completion of the apprenticeship you will be eligible to apply for Automation Engineering roles within the RME team

As a Caulking Apprentice, you will be involved in a variety of different tasks, primarily around plate preparation and metal removal. This role is broken down into four areas which are Gouging, Grinding, Burning and Tank Testing).
The Caulking trade is progressively adopting increasing levels of mechanisation and automation technology. As a Caulker you will learn to operate tractor mounted oxy-fuel burning equipment, arc-air and plasma gouging equipment, and milling systems. In addition was already undertake highly specialised robotic cutting and gouging processes. This leads into the programming, remote operation and production management of robotic processes on major structural components, essential for the manufacture of our submarines.
Gouging has been designed for carbon-based metals and is used to remove metal, generally to prepare materials before welding is carried out. In carbon-arc gouging, an electric arc at the end of a consumable carbon rod melts the metal, and a continuous blast of compressed air blows the molten metal away.
Grinding is used to dress areas to the correct size and to prepare weld joints so the required quality can be achieved. Grinding is also used to remove weld profiles prior to inspection.
Burning is used to cut steel to correct sizes prior to fabrication. This process uses oxygen and propane to heat the steel up to a molten state and then a jet of additional oxygen used to cut through the steel.
Tank Testing is used to confirm the integrity of the tanks. These are tested by blanking all holes into the tank and then using air or water to raise the pressure within the tank. You will be trained to then inspect the tank boundaries for leaks.Training:Engineering Operative Level 2.

Carboline is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to work in Green Bay, WI location This intern will work closely with several of our engineers and is a great opportunity for this person to gain hands on experience, become familiar with the manufacturing environments, and grow their professional network.
Requirements:
This is a paid internship where we are seeking someone who can work 30 - 40 hours per week from May through August.
Essential Functions:
Work directly with the Engineering Team and learn how to determine the optimal manufacturing methods and process for producing company products and gain hands on real-world experience in a manufacturing environment Additionally, they will learn and understand productivity improvement; LEAN processes, ergonomics, time studies for reducing waste and excess, line balancing, 5S, Kaizen, etc. Work from engineering design documents, prototypes and/or change orders, and analyzing them for produce-ability Working with Plant EH&S personnel to implement environmental or safety directives. • Determine what equipment, tooling, materials, methods of manufacturing (may include make/buy - automation decision) Work with other engineers to coordinate in setting up or changing the manufacturing processes involved with new or revised products. May use CAD/CAM equipment to perform design tasks Take responsibility for other essential duties, as determined by department Manager While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

As Finance Manager, you’ll be joining the business in a ‘hands-on’ role where you’ll be responsible for implementing key processes such as; Monthly Accounting Calendar, Management Accounts, Budgeting/Forecasting, Financial Accounting Reporting, Cost Accounting, MI Reporting and Operational Processes
This is an exciting role that would suit a Qualified Management Accountant who ready for the next step, or someone who is already operating at Finance Manager / Financial Controller level.
THE FINANCE MANAGER ROLE:
Reporting to the CFO, this is a hands-on (non-management) role with responsibility for the financial reporting and overseeing the external practice who undertake transactional finance activities.
Introducing a monthly accounting calendar inc. the month end cycle and ensuring key deadlines align with the reporting expectations of the business / investors
Producing the end-to-end monthly management accounts for one legal entity, including: balance sheet reconciliation, commentary, MI Reporting and Board Pack
In collaboration with the SLT, Implementing a robust Budgeting methodology with effective cost controls. Annual Budgets, Quarterly Reviews with Actuals and Variances
Implementing Month on Month trackers and Quarterly Reviews
Producing accurate 30-day / 30-week cashflow forecasts and undertaking responsibility for cashflow management
Responsible for Stock Management and Forecasting
Managing the relationship with the external accountancy partner that undertakes Bookkeeping, Payroll, Pensions, VAT and Year End Accounts Prep/Completion.
Evaluating which elements to bring inhouse for hands-on management and which leave outsourced
Providing ah-hoc reporting for the CFO, Board and Investors
Reviewing processes and procedures, where appropriate, implementing tech to create process efficiency and via automation.
THE PERSON:
Must be Fully CIMA / ACCA / ACA Qualified
Current experienced as a Management Accountant, Finance Manager or Financial Controller is essential, ideally from an SME background.
The expertise to implement a monthly accounting calendar including; budgeting, forecasting, management accounts and financial reporting
Must be willing to undertake hands on responsibilities as this is not a people management role
Tech-Savvy individual who can identify efficiency and implement tech tools
Confident with accounting systems such as Xero and operating at an Intermediate or Advanced level on MS Excel
Able to work autonomously remotely and prepared to attend team meetings a couple of days in London at their HQ
Any experience in stock or supply chain would be an advantage.
