Ferma are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Commis Chef to join the team.
Some experience as a Kitchen Porter or equivalent would be an advantage, but no previous experience is required. However, the suitable candidate must be passionate about food and eager to begin a career in the hospitality and catering industry.
As an Apprentice Commis Chef, you will be:
Assisting in the food preparation process
Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes
Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
Assisting other Chefs
Helping with deliveries and restocking
Assisting with stock rotation Cleaning stations
Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards

Coach Core’s vision is to drive social mobility through apprenticeships and sport, so that every young person can reach their true potential and inspire those around them. Since our launch in 2012, we have worked with over 150 of the biggest sports providers, youth clubs and charities in the country, supporting over 500 young people.
This role will be a collaboration between Castle Point Leisure and Sporting Memories, a charity and social enterprise that helps older people to reminisce, replay and reconnect through the power of sport and physical activity.
Launched in 2011, Sporting Memories supports a wide range of people aged 50-plus, including those living with dementia, living with depression or facing isolation and loneliness to improve their mental and physical wellbeing through our regular club sessions, situated within local communities across England, Scotland and Wales.
The Community Activator Coach role is the perfect opportunity to understand the role of sport and physical activity in the Community, and as a coach with Sporting Memories you will be helping to run fully accessible and inclusive group sessions that are physically and mentally stimulating as well as games combined with supporting sporting reminiscence sessions.

Telephone calls:
You will be required to take incoming telephone calls to the office- with such calls being from a variety of people, such as new clients, existing clients, estate agents, other solicitors etc.
You will be required to assist where possible (although you will not be expected to, neither permitted to, give any legal advice) and transfer telephone calls or take messages if appropriate
You will be required to keep a log of each phone call received and the action taken
Emails:
You may also receive a variety of emails from people such as new clients, existing clients, estate agents, other solicitors etc.
You will not be expected to reply to those emails unless instructed to do so, and your responsibility will be to ensure that the email is forwarded to the relevant person in a timely fashion
Typing:
You will be required to provide back up to the two senior secretaries, and will be required to type a variety of letters or produce other such legal documents as may be required
You will also be expected to open new files, both on Case Manager and a hard copy of the file
Banking:
You will be required to go to the bank on a daily basis to pay in cheques and cash received on behalf of the firm
Stationery:
You will be expected to check the office stationery levels (at least once a week) to ensure that the office has sufficient supplies
You will be required to place orders for new stationery as required
You will also be required to receive all new stationery orders and to put away the supplies in a timely fashion.

The delivery will take place in the workplace and the final exams at one of East Sussex College's campuses. You will then be upskilled to level 2.
The apprenticeship will be delivered fully in the workplace, and you will have assessor meetings every 4-6 weeks and workplace reviews every 10-12 weeks to monitor your progress. There will also be monthly workshops.
The employer will also consider applications from those that want to complete the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship. For those wishing to study at Level 3, you must have a few years’ experience of working in a childcare setting and/or a Level 2 Childcare qualification.

There is no set mandatory qualification within this Standard, however all training will be delivered to allow students to stretch to the highest grade at EPA (distinction). 8 weekly reviews will monitor progress by all parties.
Apprentices completing this standard, will gain 15 months of practical training and the remaining 3 months will be dedicated to End Point Assessment preparation.

You will be working as part of a small team. On a daily basis you will assist to develop, review and check on the implementation of safe systems of work, deliver training (e.g. toolbox talks & inductions), investigate incidents, analyse incident and near-miss data, assign actions.
The role will provide hands on administrative support and will help shape and embed Blenheim’s H&S processes and practices. You will get to undertake real work-based projects that will reinforce your learning and that will have a demonstrable health and safety benefit.
The tasks and responsibilities detailed below summarise the current role of the H&S Coordinators and will form part of the skills and knowledge that will be worked towards during the course of the apprenticeship.
Providing support to the Head of Health & Safety and the safety team
Assist the management team in the development, management, implementation and monitoring of the Safety Management System
Supporting Managers to organise and record all re-occurring schedules of maintenance for vehicles, machinery and equipment, compliance checks, servicing, etc.
Supporting managers by assisting with reviewing and writing risk assessments
Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents dangerous occurrences near misses and other incidents as required
Provide reports and data to key stakeholders from the Systems in place
Log and issue all training certificates where courses are provided by 3rd parties
Carry out safety audits and inspections on a routine basis across the business and agree deadlines for actions with managers
Attend and support the admin for both the Safety Executive Committee and the Safety Forum
Research Health and Safety issues and best practices from reliable sources, reviewing updates of health and safety regulations for specific working areas
Review job roles in relation to training required across the business to help ensure that we are legally compliant. Log and issue all training certificates where courses are provided by 3rd parties
Deliver Toolbox talks and Safety Induction training to staff
Train users on our systems and ensure they are utilising and recording correctly
Review policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure that they reflect current practice and that they are legally compliant
Review event risk assessments to ensure that ‘best practice’ and industry standards are used

Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

Monthly contact session with your PV trainer

The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
Day to day tasks will always vary, but will normally include but not limited to:
Servicing-working to manufacturer servicing guidelines to ensure the vehicle running at optimum performance
Vehicle maintenance- replacing parts that have wear and tear before they fail
Repair - diagnosing the reason for vehicle failure and fixing the problem
Shadowing qualified Kia Technicians in the workshop to understand and learn how to carefully service and diagnose repair/faults for customer vehicles
Car technicians will be expected to see whether components and systems are secure and working proper
Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation
At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying
Motor vehicle service and maintenance technician - light vehicleLevel 3 (A level)
