Our apprenticeship structure combines on-the-job work experience with college attendance. The curriculum covers a range of engineering disciplines, focusing initially on core engineering competencies before branching into specialist training for the electrical engineer position.
You'll be guided by experienced electrical engineers, many of whom have completed the same apprenticeship scheme. They'll mentor you throughout the process and teach you the necessary skills to become a successful Electrical Engineer.

Your role as CNC Apprentice is to learn how to set and operate the CNC machines in a safe and competent manner and to work as part of a team producing high quality machined components for assembly into finished products. Supported by the employer, the successful applicant will study towards a Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship qualification.
Year one is about providing a firm base, while also gaining an overview of how a company works. In addition to working in the machine shop, you will gain an insight into the wider teams, including Engineering, Assembly and Test, Production control, Inspection, Sales, Business support, Finance and HR.

The apprentice will be assigned an assessor through the College, who will typically come out to visit in the workplace to assess workplace competence.

In years 2 and 3 you will attend college 1 day per week with 4 days spent in the workplace. Training:
As a Lead Engineering Maintenance Technician, you'll study for a Level 4 apprenticeship with Stoke College
You'll be required to attend the college on a block release, Monday lunchtime to Friday lunchtime
There will be approximately 10 blocks per year
Training Outcome:
On completion of your apprenticeship, you will become a qualified maintenance field engineer, working alongside established colleagues in your respective geographic patches
There are further opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills and over time progress to an Advanced Electrical Mechanical Engineer, working with other technologies such as refrigeration cooling, pressurisation and high voltage activities
Alternatively, there are other roles with specialism in power, policy and support
