JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Construction Management Associate is responsible for assisting the Construction Manager in all aspects associated with a construction-related project. This will include but is not limited to, General Contracting projects, larger-scale Contracting Patch and Repair Projects, TremCares, etc. This will involve working with the Construction Manager, Project Superintendent, or WTI Technician assigned to the project to ensure the project is effectively executed anc completed safely, and all contractual obligations are adhered to. Additional duties will include participating in onsite meetings, scope of work development, proposal review, specification review, completion of project schedules, assembling project submittals, obtaining building permits, project closeout documents, and other duties as directed by the Construction Manager.

Direct Project Superintendents as needed.

Specification Development Stage:
Works with the Construction Manager and Sales Representative to establish a scope of work for the project.
Completion of specification requests and related documents.
Responsible for specification review as required by the Construction Manager.
Pre-Proposal Stage:
Conducts Pre-Proposal Meeting and distributes completed Pre-Proposal Meeting documentation to all applicable parties.
Assist the Construction Manager in reviewing proposals.
Prepare Proposal Documents as directed by the Construction Manager.
Pre-Construction Stage:
Publish the Project Schedule.
Assists Construction Manager in planning and coordinating the Pre-Construction Meeting.
Engages with the Project Superintendent to provide necessary project information.
Conducts Pre-Construction Meetings and distributes completed Pre-Construction Meeting documentation to all applicable parties.
Obtain Building Permit when required.
Construction Stage:
Review Daily Inspection Forms and ensure they are distributed to all applicable parties and uploaded into project files.
Visits job site as necessary or directed by the Construction Manager.
Conduct weekly Progress Meetings, virtual or onsite, and distribute meeting minutes to all applicable parties.
Maintain Project Schedule and update on a weekly basis.
Perform site audits as appropriate.
Review subcontractor payment requests with the Construction Manager.
Assemble AIA billing applications for the Construction Manager's review and approval.
Assist the Construction Manager, Project Superintendent, Subcontractor, Owner, or Sales Representative as needed.
Close Out Stage:
Assist the Construction Manager in coordinating the final inspection.
Ensure all required documents are uploaded into the project files.

Job duties:
1. Purchase ledger
Ensure that purchase requisitions are received from academies within the region and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner.
Ensure that all purchase requisitions have been approved by the appropriate budget holder and in line with the academies scheme of delegation.
Receive and process all invoices for academies within the region, ensuring that the goods/ services have been received, and the expenditure has been approved (i.e. via purchase requisition or approval of invoice on receipt).
Ensure that all expenditure is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost centre, and that the correct VAT code is used.
Prepare the weekly/ fortnightly BACs payment run and ensure that suppliers are paid within payment terms.
Receive and check all statements from suppliers.
Investigate and action any issues that arise with regard to creditors.
Regular review and maintenance of the outstanding purchase order and goods received notes report.
2. Sales ledger:
Ensure that sales orders/ requests are received from academies within the region and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner.
Ensure that all income is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost centre, and that the correct VAT code is used.
Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are processed and sent to debtors promptly.
Ensure that all invoices are monitored and chased so that prompt payment is received.
3. Bank account:
Ensure that payments in slips/ remittances are received from academies within the region and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner.
Ensure that all income from dinner money, trips etc. is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost centre, and that the correct VAT code is used.
Ensure that payment request forms are received from academies within the region and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner.
Ensure that all payments are recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost centre, and that the correct VAT code is used.
4. Other balance sheet accounts:
Ensure that petty cash returns are received from academies within the region and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner.
Ensure that credit card returns are received from academies within the region and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner.
Prepayments – ensure that all invoices covering more than one period and meeting the materiality limits are recorded on a spreadsheet for monthly posting by the relevant member of the team.
5. Other duties:
Posting journals to the accounting system to correct coding errors where necessary.
Recoding of payroll expenses on a monthly basis, ensuring that all VAT is reclaimed where necessary.
Training:Advanced Diploma - AAT Level 3.
Advanced builds on the knowledge gained at the Foundation level. If you work in accounts or have studied accountancy before, you may be able to start at this level. You’ll learn complex accounting techniques, and master a number of accounting disciplines, including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants.
This level will encourage you to master more complex accounting principles in both Bookkeeping and Management Accounting. You’ll develop the technical skills to start, or progress, your career in accountancy and this will allow you to continue with your studies onto Level 4.
To pass this level you’ll need to study five units (also known as subjects), which are all mandatory. Four of the units are examined individually and there is also a synoptic assessment that you’ll take towards the end of the level, which incorporates the final two units as well as drawing on all the other units you’ve studied at this level.

Advanced Synoptic Assessment.
The Apprenticeship standard details the essential Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours that somebody would need to demonstrate to be a successful Assistant Accountant. These include Business Awareness, Ethics, Communication, Embracing Change and Problem-Solving. Apprentices will need to show they are competent in all the areas detailed in the standard when they take the End Point Assessment.
The Knowledge areas of the standard will typically be covered through completion of the AAT qualification. The PNE is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. What will you do?
In your role as Assistant Manager, Guest Experience, you will work with the Manager and team of seasonal Assistant managers to set the tone for employee development and all guest facing interactions on the PNE site, including: Playland, Summer Fair and Fright Nights, with potential to support the Guest Experience team at Year Round Events.
Playland Operations
Support in pre-season set up, park readiness, administration requirements, employee onboarding and team training.

This is an events based position and hours of work vary accordingly (evenings/ weekends and early mornings).

With your fellow assistant managers, support training, scheduling, payroll, progressive discipline and ongoing performance reviews and coaching of Guest Experience team members.

Full availability for all 15 operational days of the annual summer fair, working minimum of 10hrs/day during Fair is required.
Must be comfortable leading a large team of staff (approximately 30-60 staff/day) in an people-centric, high capacity, environment.
Must have a strong background with guest experience delivery and be comfortable communicating with guests both in person, via e-mail, and over the phone.
2-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a leadership capacity; preferably as an Assistant Manager or senior supervisor, supervising and providing direction to a large team (temporary, part time, seasonal, etc.).
Previous experience working in the hospitality, tourism or sports industries is preferred.
Diploma, Certificate, or degree in a relevant discipline, an equivalent combination of education & experience, or current enrollment in a relevant program is an asset.
Ability to foster collaborative and effective working relationships with all staff on-site.
Experience developing standardized manuals and operating procedures.
Strong planning, organizational, and administrative skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, supervisory, leadership and staff development.
Ability to function independently and under pressure, and ability to manage various projects at the same time.

What is the opportunity?
The successful applicants will work in the Nottingham Business Unit, on Glaisdale Drive and will enjoy a programme that exposes them to all aspects of our business. This will include, logistics, office administration, customer service, sales, marketing and inventory. At the same time they will attend NTU on block and day release studying, over a four year period. 20% of the candidate’s time will be spent in formal or informal training.
We are taking applications now and the current window will shut on the 12th April. Interviews will take place during April and Early May and will involve two separate interviews, both in Nottingham, one at least will involve a research task and presentation. Offers of employment are conditional upon being accepted on to the Charter Management Degree Apprenticeship.

Typically, you will be a person seeking your first role in full time employment. As such we will be more interested in your attitude and desire to pursue this course of action rather than any direct work experience you may have. You do need to meet the Nottingham Trent University entrance criteria.
As an individual you will be ambitious to work as part of a busy dedicated team. Although we will ensure you experience other areas of the business, your primary focus will be on customer service and sales. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate and relate to our customers and existing staff and be confident dealing with people of all types, you may have some customer facing work experience, in any case you will be clear yourself that this is the career path you wish to follow.
Much of what we sell is electrical product and you will have the ability to research (from our catalogue, online and other sources) and impart technical information about the product.
You will have the ability to use our bespoke computer system to accurately process our customer orders, this requires the ability to concentrate on detail, to ensure you avoid costly mistakes, whilst inputting. (Full training given).
You will be a resilient individual who has chosen to take a course of action that will expose you to a demanding and hard-working environment, you will be able to juggle your academic work and your paid work commitments.Training:A fully funded learning experience delivered in conjunction with Nottingham Trent University, dependant on you working at Stearn Electric.
