You will undertake a planned rotation within appropriate departments in order to gain the skills, and competence to complete the Standard requirements. In addition you will attend education both part time and on block release to achieve the Knowledge, Behaviors and Competencies as required by the apprenticeship. Attendance outside of standard work patterns should be expected.
Provide technical support to the depot teams in the provision of primary fault finding/reporting.
Provide basic maintenance competency e.g. side skirt cleans, brake pads, block changes etc.

The Role
We are seeking technicians who will be responsible for the technical uptime of our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROVs) and USV’s within the European and African region.
You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations, equipment maintenance and technical fault finding. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey.
Travel to project sites will be required for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and servicing of the vessel itself ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables.

You will be expected to draft tax returns and eventually review tax returns drafted by others. You will also eventually manage your own caseload and work to fee earning targets
What you’ll be doing:
Preparation of tax returns using software
Running reports and filing tax returns
May involve preparation of accounts depending on role
Drafting correspondence to clients and stakeholders
Dealing with phone calls to and from clients
Dealing with phone calls to HMRC
Attend client and internal meetings and take notes and actions
Generally, provide support and assist with achieving the objectives of the team including client billing
Deal with relevant administration duties including photocopying, scanning documents, amending documentation, archiving; filing; file maintenance and opening files
Process incoming post and ensuring outgoing post is dealt with efficiently
Assist with BD&C activities and arrange training where applicable
You’ll be expected to provide efficient, cost-effective work using commercial software
You will learn how to prepare annual self-assessment tax returns, capital gains returns, and provide advice, for a portfolio of clients

You will be assisting the local M&E team with the delivery of maintenance and repair works to mechanical & electrical structures, plant and equipment to protect and enhance the reputation of the network as a valued national asset. This will include carrying out reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance, general works programme, and projects, including working on a wide range of assets such as bridges, locks, pump stations & construction sites.
Comply with Canal & River Trust’s Health & Safety policy and defined standards, report incidents, accidents and near misses.
Assist with point of work risk assessments and make adjustments to work methods where appropriate
Working outside, ensure that the customer experience is maximised by providing outstanding levels of customer service in accordance with defined standards.
Promote Canal & River Trust by maintaining a professional approach at all times
Assist in the planning and preparation of all specific related tasks in terms of mechanical and electrical equipment, materials and plant resources
Assist the M&E team to ensure all mechanical and electrical equipment (PPE, plant, materials etc) are appropriate for the task
Support mechanical and electrical asset inspections.
Identify and report any damage or incidents to M&E Supervisor or Engineers for inputting into SAP
Assist M&E Team to undertake key duties associated with the mechanical and electrical maintenance of the waterways

You will be expected to stay away from home at college accommodation during your block weeks
All college related travel costs are paid for by the Trust

Learning how to set, program and operate a range of CNC machine tools to produce machine tool components.
Machines include Lathes, Milling, Grinding, Multi-Tasking, 5 axis machines.
Component Inspection.
Training:Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Worcester (WR4 9GN):
Duration approximately 40-45 months.
Year 1 includes 29-42 weeks off the job training to cover practical and theory aspects.
Year 2 would include 1 day per week to complete EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge.
Years 2,3&4 will be based in company developing skills in preparation for the end point assessment to gain your Machining Technician Level 3 qualification.
You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment.
Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed.
There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.Training Outcome:• Specialisation in a core module.
