The Commercial Façade Field Technician actively performs and enforces Company safety policy and program to minimize accidents affecting employees, the public, and property. They will be responsible for attending safety meetings, complying with governmental regulations, reporting, and investigating accidents, and planning site-specific job safety procedures including:
$21-38/hour (not including prevailing wage)

Position Duties & Responsibilities:
Attend and understand daily onsite safety brief prior to the start of the WTI project. Inspect and ensure safety of surroundings, equipment and tools and identify and discuss any safety concerns. Execution of project tasks with knowledge of expected production rates, ensuring tools and materials are used safely and efficiently to complete the assigned project. Complete the project per the scope or work, design and specification of contract & engineering documents as directed by foreman. Responsible to aid foreman in tracking and monitoring project inventory. Maintains highest quality on-site customer relations in projecting positive image. Has knowledge/understanding and performs work in compliance with all governmental rules and regulations affecting work sites and employees, i.e. OSHA, DOT, EEO/Affirmative Action, EPA, etc. Provides management with earliest possible notification of real and potential job problems. Accepts responsibility for the care, custody, and use of company equipment, material, tools, and other assets as assigned by the WTI Commercial Foreman. Understands and executes proper material and equipment usage, maintenance, and storage. Perform any other duty and/or project as required or assigned by the WTI Foreman and/or Commercial Business Manager. Maintains ethical business conduct.

Installation and Management of ICT Resources:
Perform basic PC hardware repairs and upgrades
Follow acceptance test procedures for new ICT equipment
Maintain common hardware found in school; install applications and trouble-shoot basic problems
Set up hardware and perform basic checking of networked PCs
Perform routine tasks to maintain user accounts and permissions
Maintain the Trust website by uploading pages and files
Implement changes to hardware and applications, collate and interpret results of testing
Assist with the purchase of equipment following Trust procedures
Contribute to the maintenance of the ICT resource database

This Apprenticeship involves learning and putting into practice the broad range of ICT technical support skills, including customer care.
As part of this role, you will be undertaking ICT Technical duties such as:
Providing first line helpdesk support to students, staff, contractors and visitors
Installing new software, hardware upgrades and replacing components as and when required
Maintaining the upkeep of the school i.t. inventory
Monitoring and logging helpdesk issues on the it support request system
Supporting staff setting up and preparing equipment around the school e.g. Assembly set up, presentation evening
Setting up laptops, projectors, whiteboards, sound systems as and when required, ensuring they are ready to use
Providing basic maintenance and cleaning support for all computer equipment and networks, including the connection and commission of new equipment and security marking

The role will be split between site work and work in our offices at Clapham. Your involvement in the first year will be with our Metallurgy and Steelwork Inspection departments, from there you will spend time in each of our other departments including the Construction Materials, Building Inspection and Investigation departments and Geology. In all cases full training will be given and the level of involvement in the different areas will grow as training and competence develops. In addition to building on general laboratory techniques, you will learn to perform specific tests along with sample preparation techniques, mechanical testing and measurement of properties. Additionally, there will be site based work where you will develop inspection techniques, gain experience in further testing types as well as the practicalities of site testing and taking site notes.
Lab Based
Preparation of samples from bulk materials to sample ready for testing
Undertaking testing such as strength, compression
Use of general workshop machines including saws, drills, coring rigs and linishers
Assisting with project investigations
Site Based
Load testing especially on barriers (making sure barriers are safe)
Coating and corrosion inspection especially of steel members
Coring and taking of concrete dust samples
Site testing including carbonation testing (chemical testing of concrete)
Support consultants, inspectors and technicians in recording site information, locations and details of issues
The role will give you real insight into the use of materials within construction, and the issues that can arise.
