As a Lead Nurse your key responsibilities include:
Provide specialist clinical knowledge, expertise and support to the nursing team and wider MDT
Have oversight of the clinical and care needs of all service users, supporting the primary nurses in working with patients, their families, community teams and other stakeholders in meeting the individual needs of each person
Ensure that proactive clinical risk assessment and management are at the centre of planning care and interventions with service users and colleagues
Constructively reviewing and challenging nursing practice in the service, leading by example, and providing expert knowledge to the nursing and wider MDT on a speciality or individual patient basis
Provide education and development of Registered Nurses and HCAs and ensuring that the baseline needs of everyone to practice safely and effectively are met
Contribute to the clinical elements of all nurse induction, preceptorship and related professional activities
Provide clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions with Registered Nurses on an individual or group basis
Undertake competency assessments and supportive practise with Registered Nurses and HCAs

At least 3 years’ experience working within multidisciplinary teams within relevant clinical settings
A clinical leader who is confident working across organisational boundaries
Experienced in leading on service development projects

Measuring and marking pipes for cutting and threading
Laying out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment following blueprints
Planning pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications
Selecting pipe sizes, types and related materials such as supports, hangers and hydraulic cylinders
Installing automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems
Turn on valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections using valve keys or wrenches
Removing and replacing worn components
Operating motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors
Connecting the pipe to the source, testing the flow and performing repair and maintenance as necessary
Coordinating with the site manager to configure pipe system layouts
Cutting, threading and hammering pipes according to pipe system specs
Securing pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment
Removing water from flooded manholes and basements
Repairing cracks and leaks

The Role

As a first step in attaining a professional career, the broad purpose of this apprenticeship is to start you on your chosen occupation of Carpenter. Training is delivered by experienced tutors at South Devon College through a mix of classroom-based learning, practical workshops, and on-site experience, preparing apprentices for a career in the construction industry.
