Key Responsibilities:
Supporting day-to-day business requirements for the laboratory processing work and testing.
Carry out metallurgy and routine laboratory sample preparation and testing in an accurate and professional manner to tight timescales, with full and accurate recording of results on worksheets.
Verify compliance with specifications and requirements and to immediately report any deviations.
Be actively involved in any defect analysis / investigations.
Assist with producing material test certificates and producing technical reports as required.
Provide support for in-house testing procedures.
To work in accordance with Internal Procedures.
Performing metallurgical and mechanical tasks.
Deliver testing within agreed timescales, with right first-time aptitude.
Accurate working and recording of results.
Good laboratory housekeeping, including keeping equipment, clean and functional.
Support continuous improvement activities & projects.

Training:Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship
Location: Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, Parkway Cl, Sheffield, S9 4WH
Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm & Friday: 7:30am - 12:00pm (45 minutes lunch)
Total of 37.5hrs per week (including half day Friday)
Training Outcome:Our goal is to transform you into a fully competent member of the team, with a desire for the successful apprentice to progress onto Materials Degree apprenticeship after completion of the Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship.
This apprenticeship can lead to some amazing career opportunities within the business.
