Training:
Training will be provided through Harriet Ellis Training Solutions
The apprentice will complete their coursework and online portfolio through Harriet Ellis while gaining practical experience within the dental practice
Training will mainly take place online, with Harriet Ellis assessors regularly visiting the practice to support and assess progress
Apprentices will also complete exams through Harriet Ellis as part of the qualification
The apprentice will be given one paid day per week for off-the-job training, study and coursework completion
Training Outcome:
Successful apprentices may be offered a permanent position within the practice as a qualified Dental Nurse upon completion of the apprenticeship
There may also be opportunities to progress into further training and development within dentistry, including additional dental nursing qualifications and specialist roles

Use of the air tube system for receiving specimens and sending reports
Distribute specimens to relevant laboratories, fast tracking urgent, clinic and label samples as appropriate. This may include packaging of samples for referral to external and internal agencies

As an apprentice, you will receive all the training you need to be able to carry out this role fully and competently, and you will undertake the Healthcare Science Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship standard
