Your Embedded Software experience should be specifically in Embedded C. Ideally, you will have experience in the Defence sector; however, we are open to candidates from other complex sectors. It will be essential that you could obtain security clearance.
Knowledge of prototyping, using C, C++, MATLAB, or another software language will be highly advantageous.
It is expected that you hold a degree in a software or electronics field, or another field that would have led you into an Embedded Software Engineer role.
We are open to candidates at various levels of experience, ranging from those with a year or two of industry experience to more senior roles. The level of responsibility will depend on your level of experience and skills.

Some projects will involve you offering support and mentorship to junior members of staff, while other projects will involve you taking on the Electronics design aspects yourself.
We are looking for someone who has been working hands on developing new Medical Devices technologies in their current role, while mentoring other members of staff. Most projects will be on electro-mechanical Medical Devices, so you will need to have worked on these types of technologies. They could be implantable medical devices, wearable tech or another medical technology that abide by EN60601 standards.
Alongside past work experience, it is expected that you hold a relevant degree within a suitable subject that led you into a Medical Devices Electronics Engineering role. It would also be advantageous if you hold a master’s or PhD, but not essential as the active work experience in industry is more important.
The types of technologies you will be developing are lifesaving and life improving medical devices, truly industry disrupting technologies that will save and improve thousands of people’s lives.
This role will involve working with external and internal entities, involving a lot of communications both virtual and in real life, due to this it would be advantageous if you have worked in a role that involved communicating updates and project changes continuously.
I mentioned knowing about EN60601, but it would also be essential to have a strong understanding of ISO 13485.
People who have been successful in this role previously tend to have a highly technical hobby, this could be building drones, tinkering with engines, computer programming or another hobby that involves problem solving. If you do have such a hobby, make sure you highlight it on your CV to give you the best chance of gaining an interview.

The Process Engineer (Jr) provides engineering support to the assigned program and/or area to ensure the product is processed in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow. This is a mobile role covering multiple retail sites across Luton, Stevenage, Bishops Stortford and the surrounding areas. You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, servicing commercial heating systems and supporting the wider HVAC requirements across the estate.
The role
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across multiple retail sites.
Service and repair commercial boilers, fans, pumps, AHUs and FCUs.
Complete minor alterations and installations within your area of competence.
Attend breakdowns and diagnose faults efficiently.
Identify non-repairable equipment and recommend suitable replacement options.
Complete service reports and update work through a PDA system.
Order parts and spares in line with company procedures.
Work as part of a 24/7 on-call rota, approximately 1 week in 4.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, compliance and customer service.
About you
NVQ or SVQ Level 3 in Heating, Ventilation, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC or an equivalent qualification.
Previous experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
Experience working across commercial or retail environments.
Full UK driving licence.
Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces.
Good customer service and communication skills.
